The night was young as a red colored figure was out on the run back through the many buildings of New York. It had been a long day since he had been out with SHIELD, Kaine didn't really like leaving the infants alone so he had put in a camera to watch them while he was gone. It may have been a few hours but he was done with work with SHIELD with being on the job as a teacher the kids were locked up in his apartment and asleep as well. As he came home he was relieved to see they were alright, maybe it was best one day that they invest in a baby sitter, he wouldn't want them to be left alone all the time.
"Heay kid let's get some fresh air, I'm sure you'd like that from being cooped up in the room all day." Kaine said as he wove a web for Kaiden, he was awake but Kade his second son was asleep. He picked up the boy in the makeshift webbing basket that he made and moved it to one arm. "Out we go then." He said holding onto Kaiden as he heard the boy giggle. It was funny as he looked back at the boys seeing a lot of himself in their genetics. It sounded odd, but he wondered who exactly the boys would look like when they're older.
He held onto Kaiden with one arm as he pushed open the window. And clung to the wall carefully making sure he didn't fall. He climbed up the bricks as he made it to the top of the roof and inhaled a couple of times feeling the fresh air hit his lungs. Kaiden was looking around in the basket that he was in at the city below him. "So you like New York kid?" Kaine asked as Kaiden let out a giggle in response. He wished the boys were old enough to talk but it was enough to make him feel happy about it. He and Katherine were giving them a second chance at life. This night like many others felt peaceful but he had heard about the recent events that were going on like the Dark Avengers. He knew the boys had to grow up fast and they had to learn them that the world had its bad moments, and good ones too. He just hoped it didn't have to be so hard on them like it had been on his and Katherine's past so long ago.
Anya fired a webbing to swing around a few buildings, panting softly as she was heading away from something. Her right arm had a makeshift bandage around it, somewhat stopping some bleeding from a slightly deep gash, a very recent one at that. What had been planned to be a normal night on the town, a sort of date night for her involving another instructor at the recreation center she taught at for some kind of normalcy in her life had quickly been cut short. The Sisterhood of the Wasps had once more popped up, this time out of no where and catching Anya by surprise when they not only had a new Hive Mother but also Hunter wasps under her employment.
The fight had quickly gotten out of hand and she had barely fought them off long enough to make a getaway, trying to come up with a plan. "Maybe this is getting too big for one spider to handle along." She muttered, the words of her past encounters with Kaine and Sam ringing in the back of her head. They had told she would always be welcome, that working alone wasn't exactly ideal for everything. A part of her felt maybe she was being foolish, refusing help when she probably needed it more than ever right now in her downward spiral of a life.
Landing on a building, Anya finally pulled her old communicator from a pocket on her belt. "Hope this works." She said to herself, turning the old watch on which flickered at first, sparking from lack of use before it finally came on. "This is former Web Warrior Arana, I'm re...gah!" Anya's transmission for back up was cut short as two hunter wasps slammed into her, causing the woman to be thrown off her feet and sliding back slightly, a groan of pain leaving her. But she let out another grunt, a heavier weight landing and pinning her, eyes widening behind her yellow lenses as the Hive Mother pinned her with a low hiss. "No one is here to save you know Arana. You may have defeated my predecessor, but I assure you, you will not escape this attempt alive." The Hive Mother said in a low hiss, fangs barred and claws ready to strike.
But before she considered entirely finishing the woman, the HIve Mother pressed one of her feet to her throat, causing Anya to gag and struggle to try and breathe, threatening to knock her out from the lack of oxygen.

Kaine looked up as well as his son as they heard his phone go off, He sighed expecting it to be SHIELD at first calling him back for some unexpected plan that decided to show up. But that wasn't the case this time around. "Hm what now?" He asked softly. "It's Anya." He muttered softly hearing the transmission as Anya was cut off Kaine's eyes went wide as he heard it. "I'll be back as soon as I can, Kaiden I have to go do something. Katherine should be home soon." "But daddy!" The boy seemed to protest not wanting to leave his father so soon but he understood that being a super hero was important and busy. Kaine climbed down the wall before climbing back through the fire escape and into the window, he put Kaiden on the bed where his brother was sleeping and left a note for Katherine that he'd be late.
After leaving the note, Kaine quickly got out his tracker system as he went out to search for the whereabouts of the signal and quickly found it. Kaine swung with his webbing from building to building before spotting someone unfamiliar on the roof. Was that the person that Anya was having trouble with? He felt his spidey sense go off only to confirm that it was the truth. And to add to that it looked like the other lady was about ready to strike Anya with her claws. "Why don't you leave her alone!" Kaine called out as he came flying forward with one of his webbings as he prepared for a powerful kick. But that had been a main distraction for Kaine as a familiar noise of Kaine's large stingers appeared. He prepared to slice at the lady's shoulder knowing his stingers were sharp they would've left a heavy injury on the woman.
"Looks like you got yourself in quite a bind, Arana." Kaine said as he was about ready to strike or defend himself if he needed it. He brandished his stingers as they shined in the light. "By the name so you don't forget my name, it's Scarlet Spider." He said with a warning tone. Kaine wished some of the other web warriors or something had come, since this woman looked pretty tough, maybe even one of the higher up rankings of a group. But as he stood their waiting for another move to come he thought he saw a blue streak fly through the sky. Someone he and Anya knew all too well. "Also looks like Nova showed up," He pointed out.
Ooc: it'd be interesting to see how things turn out, I thought it'd be alright if Sam showed up.
Post by Sam Alexander on Oct 28, 2017 15:15:18 GMT
Sam had gone to bed earlier that night since he had been going to bed at such odd times of the day with the SHIELD buisness that they had. HOwever he sighed as he felt his shield communication go off on his helmet next to him and his badge went off as well. "Who's calling at this hour?" Sam asked letting out a yawn as he woke up and read the message. It was only then he realized that the message was from his friend Anya. Quickly he got dressed on normal clothing and put on his helmet before opening the window to his room and flew out. The night sky felt good, he often came out to clear his head, but he didn't have time for that.
"Anya I'm coming!" He called out as he followed the transmission signal as he flew down he saw that there were three people already there. One he thought he was certain was Anya, the other was Scarlet Spider from the Web Warriors in SHIELD. The third lady he didn't recognize one bit but he assumed that was what the trouble was about. Once he got close enough Sam's hands lit up with a bright blue from the Nova Force that he had running through his body and sent multiple blasts towards the odd Hive Lady. Kaine also had her busy as well as the red suited spider hero had his claws out.
"Arana are you alright?" He asked as Sam had a protective side. He landed not far from Anya in case she needed help getting up. In this situation it was clear that back up had arrived. "As for you lady you hurt one of my friends I don't exactly forgive people for doing that." Sam pointed out as his hands glowed a deep blue as he prepared for more attacks, if this lady had any he'd be ready, and it looked like Kaine was too.
The large female wasp-like creature grinned as she looked at the woman, seeing her turning blue and her eyes beginning to roll back in her head. There was an almost twisted pleasure of making their long time enemy suffer, the hunter wasps snickering in their own odd way as they watched the former Spider Society Hunter losing consciousness. That was until someone spoke, causing the massive wasp-like being to glance back but snarling in pain as he struck her shoulder, "Filthy arachnid. You'll die after she does!" The Hive Mother spoke but hissed as she was forced off Anya with a powerful blast, stumbling slightly from its force.
The moment that wieght was gone, Anya gasped, taking in several deep breathes and rolling onto her hands and knees, coughing slightly as she tried to get air into her burning lungs. It took her a moment to finally look up at the two, never more glad to see two familiar faces, if even one was on tense terms right now. "Glad my communication watch still works at all." She told them, voice hoarse as she stood, rubbing her throat slightly. "I'll be fine Sam, you two came in the nick of time." She told them, clearing her throat, watching the hunter wasps tense and the HIve Mother shaking off her attacks with a low hiss. "How cute, more little friends for me to eliminate. You really like drawing people to their deaths, don't you little spider." The Hive Mother taunted, causing Anya to flinch at the words, her carapace forming around her.
"Kaine, Sam, be ready for those hunter wasps." Anya spoke, and the moment she did the minions of the Hive Mother suddenly flew forward, aiming to attack the three heroes. Anya made no hesitation to attack them in response, using the thick aspect of her carapace to give her strikes more power.

"Oh please I've seen a lot more things that are scarier than you." Kaine said not really taking the threat to heart at this point. All he has ever done was go through the ring of survival and living off his powers. Kaine still had both of his stingers out on his wrist open in case he needed them. Scarlet Spider was poised ready for an attack or even to defend himself if it went both ways. "Hm you're lucky I was nearby in the neighborhood it would've taken me a bit longer in other areas to get here." Kaine pointed out towards Anya as he waited for her to get her breath back. Sam had Anya's guard as well seeing that he'd be her back up any day.
Scarlet Spider gave a soft nod towards Anya as he saw her starting to form her cara"Oh please you guys are nothing but wasps even ants, you aren't scary to me." Kaine said as he narrowed his eyes. One of the wasps came forward ready to attack them. While Kaine felt his spidey sense go off, he knew Sam would see them on his helmet fair enough. Kaine sent out webbing on one of his arms and sent the webbing towards the first wasp hoping to blind them while he went in with his stingers. He was hoping to slice it right on the shoulder like last time as he let out a sharp yell to let out much more force.
"You're just lucky that my whole team isn't here. There are plenty of Web Warriors out there." Kaine said though he didn't exactly feel like bringing up the part about Anya being a team member either. That was ancient history along with the mistakes that he made in his life. Once he was done with his attack, he clung to one of the nearby buildings ready to do this little dance that they were performing.
As the onslaught began they were now numbered evenly with three to three on their side. Anya was no longer in danger as she was able to protect herself. While Kaine had one of the wasps busy, Sam went a bit on the defensive side as he put up a blue wall of aura to try and protect himself as one of the wasps went on to try and attack him. The forcefield was a bit bigger than the area around him to give him a bit more room to move if need be. But he knew it couldn't stay there for long. "I'm glad you're alright, Anya. If anything I might've been late if I hadn't flown so fast to get here. I was just about to call it a night." Sam said. "But it looks like our night has just begun." He added the second Wasp came his way but before he could move he felt sharp hands around his neck as he tried to remove her he flew up in the air at a rather fast speed to get her off. He knew if he went too high the both of them would suffer from the altitude.
So he went for the second option forcing her off. "I said GET OFF!" Sam called out as he created a sharp powerful blast of Nova Force energy that lit up the air around the building before sending the wasp off of him but he had a feeling that wasn't going to be the last they'd be back until this hive queen had enough of this. As Sam flew back down he saw that Kaine and Anya were still fighting the other ones, he figured he could help out with Anya this time around.
"Anya I think you might need to explain yourself here. I won't arrest you..after all you're a friend. Kaine still sees that too." Sam said rubbing his shoulder seeing that he was a bit sore there from where the Wasp grabbed him moments ago. He'd recover he wasn't one to be let down by something for that. "But first lets take care of these guys." He added not being too harsh on her, after all she had almost been choked by one of them.
Anya found herself combating one of the minions of the Hive Mother, but despite being a little dizzy and not fully recovered from about losing consciousness she was ruthless. Her fists were especially thickened with the carapace, and though she was forced to defend against sharp claws and bites, she nevertheless pummeled the hunter wasp with enough force to leave bruises or gashes from the knuckles. It was clear Anya still held a fair bit of rage and anger inside her, enough she was finally able to get the advantage and beating down the working until she felt all but a few twitches and leaving a fairly bloody mess behind of the lifeless hunter.
"Long story short, old enemies from my days working with the Spider Society. But back with a vengeance." Anya said as she landed a few feet away, glowing from behind the carapace eyes, "Give it up Hive Mother! You aren't going to win!" She said with a low growl, but the HIve Mother merely chuckled, "On the contrary little spider, we're just beginning." With that, the Hive Mother quickly took flight, Anya fixing to pursue her before several more of her smaller, more humanoid like hunter wasps came from the nearest alleys, blocking any path to follow. "Crap." She muttered under her breathe, backing away slightly near her former teammates and her carapace retracting back into her body.
"Always a ton of these guys." She warned them once more, firing her webbing to snag two before pulling and causing them to slam into one another. Another charged forward, swiping at her with sharp claws but Anya managed to flip over them before kicking them away with both feet.

"You don't have to tell my spidey sense that, it's been going off like crazy since I got here." Kaine pointed out knowing each and every one of these wasp things would be sent out of the area or knocked out for the most part. But it was clear they didn't exactly have much time to talk just yet about it and had to focus more on fighting it at this point. As Kaine stood on the wall not far from where Sam and Anya where, a sharp tinge could be felt in his back once again as he saw one of the wasps out of the corner of his red masked eyes where that area was.
"Well then I guess we'll just have to clean up the mess that they made as usual." Kaine said as he brought one of his arms forward, as the wasp tried to grab a hold of him but he came forward Slicing the wasp right in the shoulder as it let out a shriek of pain. "I didn't think you'd like that, but you won't like this either." Kaine added.
As the wasp was distracted he sent a blast of webbing towards her before sending an electrical shockwave towards it. The wasp screamed in pain before falling to the ground once more as she sparked with electricity and the smell of burning something was in the air. "When we're done here I suppose Anya can talk, we're a bit busy at the moment." Kaine said as he only saw when he was done that there were several more wasps on their doorstep. He really wondered what it'd take for the wasp fools to go away and then he remembered something that seemed like a slap in the face. "Wait a minute, if this is a Hive, won't the wasps listen to the Queen? How about we stop the queen before taking on the small fry then they should retreat after that." Kaine suggested as his strategic side came in and as well as his knowledge on insects.
"Well that would explain a lot." Sam said as he saw how the minions from the Hive Queen were starting to form by the number loads. There were quite a few of them there and Sam couldn't count them all on the hub of his Nova helmet screen, all he saw were them lit up in red which was the usual color for the enemies there. "You can say that again." Sam agreed to Anya as he watched her starting to attack one of them in her own style after he returned from flying in the air. Kaine was busy attacking the other wasp that had come his way. He couldn't help but wonder, how many are there? A couple hundred of them maybe? That seemed like quite a bit.
As Sam flew forward he sent a couple of bolts of blue Nova Force at one of the nearby wasps that was coming forward. There were too many to count but he knew if he gave up now they'd be goners for sure. One of the wasps grabbed him on the neck again as he felt it trying to sting him but he quickly grabbed the stingers they had and swung it down with his strength before it lost consciousness from the hard fall and it probably hurt its back too.
That was when Sam heard Kaine speak up about attacking the Hive Queen it sounded like a good idea, "What do you think Anya?" He asked through communications in his helmet towards them in case they were separated. "I say we don't have much of a choice we have to attack the Hive lady again." Sam pointed out as he tried to see if the woman from earlier was still on the screen of his hub. They'd get a chance to attack once more.
"Absolutely not." Anya snapped a little more harshly and bluntly then she intended, but it was clear from the tone she wanted them no where near the Hive Mother. Yes, it was a good plan, and realistically she knew they could provide more help than perhaps the Spider Society ever would have when she was working with them. But this time, this time it was personal and for her to deal with. She had failed to apparently to make a dent in the plans of the Sisterhood of the Wasp, but she wasn't going to make that same mistake.
With a battle cry, Anya began punching and kicking her way through the wasps, holding nothing back and occasionally having to leap across them. When she noticed one hovering above the rest she found her ticket to get close to the Hive Mother, "Sorry wasp dude, but you're going to be my escort. I have a little appointment with your queen." Anya spoke, firing a web that captured the wasp's chest, making him shriek and fly upwards, enough force to sling shot Anya towards it and firing another web over its mouth before she landed on its back, drawing a spider themed knife against his neck, "Take me to her, now!" She hissed, feeling the wasp trembling with shock and fright before it complied and quickly took off towards his queen who was in the middle of making her own getaway.
The Hive Mother seemed surprised to hear the sound of one of her own minions, glancing back in time to see Anya forcing the wasp hunter downward, stringer out and stabbing into the hive Mother's back. But, the thick exoskeleton was enough to stop too much serious damage, but still making her screech in pain. "You'll pay for that Arana! Now die you insistent widow!" The female wasp screech, struggling to get Anya off her back but the woman wouldn't let go, instead beginning to strike at her back with the knife, her fists, and kicks, "Hell no!" Anya snarled, struggling to take her down but one claw finally slashed her side, causing her to yelp and become off-balanced.
But the strike was enough, the hive Mother snagging her in a second pair of bug-like arms, the arms holding tight enough to keep her firmly in place. "So foolish, so reckless, such...a failure. You really are asking for a death wish aren't you?" The hive Mother chuckled, punching Anya in her wounds, causing to let out pained cries before she was knocked silly by another punch, groaning as she struggled to regain her wits. And all the while, the Hive Mother opening her maw, ready to devour the very one who had been a pain for her followers.
The red dots on Sam's hub of his helmet were showing to be a huge amount. He couldn't count them all to a degree and he knew it may be overloaded with hundreds...that may have been an exaggeration for the most part but he sure was worried about this situation at hand. Both Scarlet and Sam were not showing any signs of slowing down but they were still able to keep fighting for this long. "Anya where did you go?" He asked as he turned around after sending a Nova blast at one more wasp as it hit its shoulder and it fell to the ground landing with a powerful smack.
Little did Sam now Anya had the idea all along of what Scarlet Spider had suggested. She hitched a ride on one of the bug things and flew up to where the queen was. Instead of delivering a bad blow things ended badly as the queen had her cornered. "Anya!" He called out as he felt anger growing in side them. He had no idea why they were attacking or what they wanted. But he didn't care. He was sick of all these things and he would do one thing that Novas were well known for. That was their strength and speed. "Let her go!" Sam called out as his blue form flew forward as fast as he could, he knew it was well above the usual speed he was used to as be blurred passed some of the wasps and found himself face to face with the queen.
In the middle of all that Sam had preparing a massive ball of Nova energy, it was bigger than his fists as far as he could make it. "I said let my friend go!" He said in such a demanding tone. It was hard to imagine something like that would come out from a boy who had such a playful personality or even the times that he had skipped lessons for SHIELD. This was serious buisness. He had lost his father and wasn't about to loose his friend, maybe even lover. But he wasn't so sure about that last part on that one.
Finally when he had enough energy formed in his hands, he released the ball of energy. He wasn't so sure how big of an explosion this was going to be but it didn't matter. He wanted these wasps gone. "Heay Wasp lady, I'm gonna let you know something: You mess with any of my friends, I will make sure you are sent to the moon and back with another Nova Blast." He said, wondering if he had taken that last part too far but he meant it. But as he released the ball of Nova energy he felt his energy start to drain, and he felt dizzy, perhaps that had been too much for him.
Ooc: Going to work on Scarlet's post tomorrow. ^^;

"Ok I guess you got the message." Kaine said under his breath as he found himself striking more at the wasps. He made a mental note that both of these guys were crazy of course who hadn't done crazy things these days? As Kaine felt his spidey sense go off it was hard to ignore the fact that a hundred or more wasp creatures had come his way. He sent out more webbing in their direction as he sent it towards them, it quickly wrapped them up and clung them to a nearby wall. The ones that got far too close to him he used his stingers to them as he sliced off one of their wings which he heard cry out in pain.
He knew they weren't done yet until someone was able to handle the wasp. As he looked back he could see Anya flying up on one of the wasps. It kind of reminded him of Ant Man a bit with his flying bugs. But it looked as if things only went bad to worse as she got beaten by the Queen. That was when he realized things were really bad as Sam flew in before he could even climb up top one of the buildings. He could tell Sam was mad and he wanted to make sure Anya was safe. But Kaine couldn't look as a blue blinding light came from the young Nova's hands, it was so bright he was forced to look away from the powerful Nova blast.
"Wow that was is bright." Kaine said having to close his eyes rather tightly and just like that it was over. He didn't know the outcome of this one but he wasn't sure what happened. "Sam! Anya are you guys are alright!?" He called out hoping to get an answer. The last thing he wanted to do here was to send both of them to the med bay on SHIELD. That was something he never looked forward to doing. Not to mention he realized something in that splitting moment. Sam still cared for Anya despite their moments that had happened weeks ago. Did he still love her? Well he wasn't going to meddle but he knew that wasn't his time to try and make a love match. The two had to work it out themselves. "I'd rather not have to send you guys to the med bay. Just tell me you're alright!" Kaine called as worry came into his voice. But he too noticed that he was already starting to get tired, the wasps kept coming and coming.
Initially, the Hive Mother ignored Sam's demands, even when they became harsh. They would be another little insect for her as a snack, right now her focus was on her main course, just inches away from devouring her long time...A screech escaped the Hive Mother when the first blast came her way, causing her to whip her head around with a snarl, "How dare you interfere with..." She winced from the glowing bright light, unable to see what the Nova was doing. Anya was still held firmly in her bug-claws, but she couldn't tell if that would remain to be seen and even Anya, in a dazed state, had squint her eyes from the brightness.
A howl of pain escaped the Hive Mother next, the force being enough to blast her backwards and losing her grip on Anya in the process. "Whoa!" The sudden force jolted her back to her senses at last, just in time Anya could fire some webbing to catch the corner of a building and swinging to the side before she slung to the metal surface, panting slightly and her heart racing faster than it should. Her eyes were closed for a moment, trying to regain her composure but not missing the furious hissing and clicking of the Hive Mother's maw, her exoskeleton smoldering and blood stained. The hissing and clicks were enough to draw the attention of her hunters, those that remained tearing their brethren free or picking the injured up and quickly following their queen whose wings were barely able to keep her up.
With the noise beginning to fade, Anya finally looked back, frustration in her eyes but for the moment glad to just be alive. She finally pulled herself up too, flopping onto her back on the roof, her breathing still heavy but slowing down. "We're alive Kaine, just...exhausted." Anya reported in a tired sounding voice, managing to tilt her head to see Sam and giving a weak thumbs up to show they had won the day, this time.
Post by Sam Alexander on Nov 13, 2017 23:53:29 GMT
Sam himself was also surprised at the force of that Nova blast, he hadn't done something like that in a long time. Finally the blue lights faded from view as things returned to normal. To his surprise he saw that the Hive Queen looked dazed and confused. But as far as he was concerned this was a victory right here for them. "We did it!" He said seeing how beat up and damaged that the creature had taken. He looked back to see how Anya was doing and was glad to see that she was alright. There was even a satisfied look on his face as the lower minions of the hive queen came to drag themselves and the queen away before things returned to normal.
"Yeah I'm good as well I'm just tired." sam said as he flew over towards the roof one last time before he felt like collapsing. "I haven't made a nova blast before that big before....I guess I was mad that they were hurting you, Anya." Sam said as he took off his helmet feeling how sweaty he was underneath and rubbed his face again before putting it back on again. He had forgotten almost what time it was, it was probably late at night as the humans were mostly asleep, well any reasonable human would be. Unfortunately his adrenaline was still running and he'd doubted he'd sleep tonight.
"Well I can hang around a bit longer, if you want to talk about what happened. As far as I know a random group of bugs don't attack us without a good reason. What where you doing?" Sam asked wanting to hear the word on this. But he'd wait until Scarlet Spider came up to find out as well. He deserved to find out too as he saw the red suit of his coming into view.
