Kaine quickly climbed up the side of the roof after the blue lights faded. If anything someone would've mistaken it for a blast of lightning or even a random firework being set off in the middle of the city. No one had a clue, at least he hoped that some super heroes were just doing their usual business that night in trying to save the city. He came up with a bit of webbing as he clung to one of the higher sky scrapers before landing not far to where the others were. Both Nova and Arana looked tired after that.
"I know why you did that Sam." Kaine said knowing that there was no denying this. "You still care about Anya it was so obvious." Kaine pointed out as he sheathed his stingers back into his wrists. "I can stay for a bit longer as well but I have to go back before Katherine wonders what happened to me. I didn't exactly have enough time to text her that I was fighting a bunch of hive members." Kaine said not so sure if he should mention the part about having kids either. They'd find out sooner or later about Kaiden and Kade the two resembled Katherine and Kaine so easily it was hard to mistake it.
"Now tell us what happened, I hate to say it but I agree with bucket head that time." Kaine said as he adjusted himself by sitting on one of the older gargoyles as it seemed to still be laughing in the pose that it was in. Like it had just seen something really funny. It had its face open wide with a toothy grin and was frozen in stone that someone took time to carve as he put his hands on the neck and his feet on the brow of the beast.

For a long moment, Anya didn't answer. She was still feeling the rush of adrenaline and was only slightly aware of the ache her body was in, especially from the gashes she had earned which would probably be much worse later when the adrenaline rush wore off. A part of her was reluctant to give the full details about why these wasp members had been after her and the two had wound up in the crossfire. The regret for getting them mixed up in her problems was once more a reminder of why she hadn't been so keen to call them before but with such numbers she probably would have been dead before long without the aide.
Perhaps she didn't have to give the whole truth. "Tonight, I didn't do anything to agitate anyone." She told them honestly, pushing herself up to sit in a cross-legged position and frowning at the damage done to her suit. "I was actually trying to go on a date for once. But, hero life still prevents that from being normal." She shook her head, for the moment not about to let Sam express his anger at being completely passed over for remotely being on her list for asking on a date, not with how their last meeting went. "The Hive Mother is the creature of the Sisterhood of the Wasp, an ancient enemy of the Spider Society who I use to work with and fight crime for. They're the reason I am even here today. But four years ago they managed to succeed in summoning the last Hive Mother, their ultimate hunter, and I was called back to help take her down with the Spider Society." Anya explained.
But, her tone became mournful and bitter and it took all she had to not allow herself to lose it. "All you need to know is that I succeeded in ridding of the last Hive Mother but with a great price. It was the reason I left the Web Warriors and SHIELD behind." She muttered, finally picking herself up, shaking her head. "I appreciate you two coming to help though, it was...nice, to have help again." She admitted, giving a glance at both her former teammates but her gaze lingering on Sam, a look of apology faint in her eyes before she turned away and came to crouch on the corner. "I think enough has been done here. I should get going."

That explained a lot, as usual Kaine had been in his thinking or concentrated pose as he sat there in a squatted position. His breath was hard as he tried to recover and Sam had been no different as they listened to Anya as she spoke up of what happened. Apparently old wounds were fresh in Anya's mind, Sam wanted to tell her a lot of things but he kept his mouth shut. His body glowed a deep blue as his Nova force ran through him still, despite all that energy he used earlier he still felt a bit tired he knew the three of them should go rest before things got even worse. Besides if the night continued on there would be other super heroes would come and help fight off other villains. They needed to reserve their strength for later.
Anya had been lucky that anyone had called at all on the phone call as he thought about it. The SHIELD signal had picked up on his helmet's senstive hub and no doubt Scarlet Spider had sensed the on coming danger from his spidey sense so there was just luck on Anya's side. "Anya." He said as he felt his hand ball up a bit as if he were still rushing with energy himself. But he knew another blast like that from him would've rendered him useless.
"I don't think you were just lucky in calling us tonight, Kaine would've felt the danger with his spidey sense, my nova helmet sensed the danger as well with those wasps. But you know you can always contact us, even Brandi or Miguel if you see them any time soon." Sam said. "But you're right we should go and rest I can tell we're all tired." Sam added. "It's true that Kaine said I like you I'd protect you guys like any of my friends. But that was it." He added. "Well, I may see you guys later, I have to get back before SHIELD notices that I'm missing." He added and like that Sam disappeared in a blue flash as he flew with the last bit of strength through the sky. He knew things were awkward and he didn't want to get it any worse so he decided it was just better to leave on mutual terms.
"Well Anya." Kaine said as he watched her a bit before heading back. "If you're in the neighborhood on much better terms you should stop by my apartment. Katherine and I have moved in New York down town and we've got a couple of kids. It's an odd and long story I think it should be saved for another night." Kaine admitted as he began to leave as well. His hand was up in the air as he shot out some webbing. This had been an awkward situation and perhaps they better leave while it was still dark and get some rest.
Ooc: Thought I should combine these posts, and we can end this one here since it's pretty much wrapped up.
