It had been a week or so since Sam had seen Anya and the thoughts of what she had said still bothered him even though he tried to forget. The week routine was the same, staying in the hellicarrier for most of the day, and on occasions, going out to get away. He would fly past the city and before most humans knew what happened he got a chance to fly away. Perhaps they thought he was a plane and that might've been a bit funny on his thoughts about it.
Sam was awake that afternoon as he finished lunch tossing away the items in the trash like he usually did before checking any emails or messages on his phone to see if SHIELD wanted for him. So far the afternoon was pretty much open as he headed to the lounge area. For a Friday afternoon it was pretty quiet, perhaps some people had gone home or taken the day off in hopes of getting away from this place and he didn't blame him for doing that. He took out his helmet from his backpack as he put it on his lap looking at it carefully as a sort of habit to pass time. The news was on, but it was the usual stuff that happened in the civillian life style. Crime had gone down and then up again with the variety of super heroes, but usually someone was always there taking care of it.
Then he thought back towards what Anya said, was all of this really worth something? Was being a Nova worth something? It felt, odd but he really did feel like the last Nova, sometimes. They were probably almost extinct as far as he could tell. But what was it that kept him fighting and not giving up like Anya had? Was he just stubborn? Or was he just doing what his father wanted him to do? To take the nova helmet in his place? Nothing is so simple anymore, is it? He thought to himself as he put the helmet up to eye level to where his eyes would've been on the helmet and he could see the red four pointed star. The memories of all the events he had done in the past were stored in his helmet, so if another Nova came along they could easily read it, if they knew how too. Dad is still missing, and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything.
The rest of the week had been rather uneventful, nothing really happening and only the occasional crook was stirring or causing trouble. Luckily, this allowed Anya to get a decent night's sleep and being able to focus on her civilian life rather than continuing to try and live the life she had once had. But, she had been doing some mulling over on Kaine's offer to come visit the Helicarrier and had decided to stop by the storage center she was using and uncover the old skycycle SHIELD had lent her but she had never returned.
She dusted it off and had taken time to get the engine started but it finally revved to life and she carefully pushed it out, before taking a moment to close and lock the storage. "Let's see if this thing still rides." She muttered as she got on, her bag kept on her back as she gave it a few test revs first before taking to the skies. Surprisingly, the tech still held well and flied smoothly, much to her relief. But, it seemed now she could get to the Helicarrier without having to call someone or wait for someone to perhaps come by who she might recognize instead.
It took a few hours, but she was able to catch up to the big barge in the sky, taking a deep breathe and requesting permission to land, surprised when she was granted it and welcomed back. "No longer an agent." She grumbled once she landed, the flight directing staff quickly smiling meekly but Anya only huffed softly, getting off the skycycle to let them do some maintenance and much needed upgrading on it as she headed for the door leading inside the Helicarrier. Honestly, she didn't quite know where to start or wear to go first, wandering the familiar places of the ship for a while until she stumbled across the ship lounge, recalling many good and bad memories here...not made much better when she realized Sam was there, seeming to be looking at his helmet.
"Seems a lifetime ago when we first met here." Anya mumbled, stepping into the room and seeing they were alone, which she was hesitant to remain.

Brandi was on her wait to go on one of her missions she was actually suit up to actually ready to it she wasn't in much a hurry since these mission took some time to do. She stopped when she saw Sam sitting there with his helmet in his hand he seems to be thinking hard about something then she saw that Anya was there and stopped stood there silently for few moment and gave her a nod in greeting and speak in low "hello Anya nice see you again"She only met her few times before she was taken away after the huge fight to protect earth from its destruction from the world destroying entity
She knew that Sam has been pretty grumpy lately but she didn't want to push him to tell her whats been up since she usually was very good at minding her own business but this was her best friend the one who searched for her all those years and she went ahead and asked him this simple question" Sam whats up are you doing ok " She wasn't known for showing her own emotions but she does know about other peoples an actually does care. She knew this was kind of awkward at moment. She just stood there and waited for him to say something before she continued to talk.
At that point Sam didn't realize that there were two others in the room as he looked up first seeing Brandi there as she looked concerned and then there was Anya as well as he heard the two young women talk at a bit of a different time. "No I'm not doing ok." Sam responded. "I'm sorry Brandi, but unfortunately there were events that happened a few nights ago when we last met really messed me up, Anya would know what I'm talking about. I don't know what day it is anymore, nor do I know if I should eat anything." Sam admitted as it was clear as he was frustrated and a bit grumpy like Brandi had figured. Usually Sam was the carefree spirited type, and a bit competitive but this was different. He knew he hadn't told Brandi about what had happened that night where he and Anya had kissed. In fact he hadn't told anyone about it, just as a bit of a lie where he had visited "Lady Liberty" To the ones who had asked him where he had gone that evening.
"I'm frustrated, tired, grumpy you name it I've got it." He said about ready to slam his helmet into the ground but he held himself back from doing that. He knew if he'd damage his helmet that would've been the end of his super hero career since he didn't know any others out there who could possibly repair a Nova helmet. He wasn't going to break that promise so he quickly put his helmet on his head figuring that it was probably better there.
"Anya we shouldn't have kissed that night, but it's too late to change the past." Sam said knowing Brandi might've heard them at this point. He felt bad that she might end up playing peacekeeper if the two of them were going to get into a fight. Sam was known for causing fights in the past but you'd think it'd be better now where he had matured and grown up a bit. Clearly not.
Realizing Brandi was also there, Anya gave a quick nod towards the older woman in greeting, "You seem to be doing well, Brandi." She answered in response, knowing she had not interacted with Brandi all that often as Sam had. Much of her time had been spent with the Web Warriors during that time and she had only sparse meetings or working with Brandi in the past. They weren't quite friends but if Sam trusted her she had too, knowing she could trust his judgement on people. Although right now, their trust was being quite strained.
Anya actually cringed at Sam's tone, knowing his acting like this was her fault to begin with. "Sam, look I'm sorry about what happened last Saturday. I allowed my impulsive get the better of me and I shouldn't have done that. Be angry with me if you want, but most of what I said is how I view things now and that kiss..." She gave a shake of her head. "It just shouldn't have happened and I know it can't be changed." At this point, Anya felt both frustrated and embarrassed, knowing Brandi was most likely listening to every single word they were speaking and there was no way to deny what Sam had said without causing further issues between them and anyone they might have known.
But, she was feeling bad for what their encounter had been causing Sam,"But you shouldn't let what I did affect your health Sam. Unfortunately, you still have obligations here, turning a cold shoulder won't stop that." She added flatly.

Brandi looked at Sam and Anya and sighed hopping that she won't have to break up a fight. She was ready to step between them if she had too but this didn't actually happen yet and she was actually glad it didn't. When she had heard about kiss she didn't know what she could say at moment because this was kind of a really personal moment. She was just listening to everything they were saying and just frowned knowing there is nothing she could at to help expect be there just in case things went bad.
The fact was relationships for her were kind of difficult because of her position at Shield and her duty as a demon hunter. She actually once bond with her old partner James Gladstone but he was killed in line of duty murdered and turned into demon like creature. She never spoke to anyone about very awhile expect for Director Fury. She has been messed up and has hidden that for awhile but she often visits the statue room a lot after missions just to talk to them.
"I understand, Anya maybe it was a mistake on both sides." Sam said as he looked back at Anya. He felt like saying a few other things, but he had a feeling that it might not work out if Brandi was here. He too knew that she was going to be listening in on what they said. But Sam trusted her, he knew that things were awkward, and this probably wasn't helping all that much. He felt like he owed an apology for Brandi too.
"And I'm sorry if we dragged you into this Brandi. I hope it's alright. I think after this I might go fly around New York or do some training." He said not entirely sure what to do. Fury had bantering at him all week that he had skipped a few rounds of training, sure he did that on occasions but he knew that the director yelling at you was a bad idea too. "If you want to join me in the training room that's fine too. Or not that works." He offered wondering if Anya would be ok with that. he'd be training of course, but heay there may be some ranting coming on later as far as he was concerned. Perhaps being with Anya that night had been a mistake on both their parts, that was the only thing that he could think of. A mistake. Period.
"No Sam, it was my mistake thinking maybe something could be normal again." Anya muttered, resting a hand over her upper right arm where the magical tattoo of the Spider Society still rested to this day and the source of all her grievances since she could remember. At least, that's what it felt like anyway. What if everything up until this point had been so much easier without being a hero? She sighed, shaking these thoughts away as she looked back at them, "Deeply sorry Brandi, its not right to have dragged you into our mess." She apologized as well.
Training? If couldn't hurt to have a formal training room for one day that she was visiting. "One training session Sam, after that I'm leaving." Anya said, turning to head that was since she still recalled the layout of the ship. It may have changed somewhat but not remotely to the point she didn't recognize it. Along the way though, Anya stopped in her tracks as she came across a hall of passed suits and remembrances of heroes who had worked for SHIELD, their former suits on display when they retired, died, or switched to something different, among them being her former suit when she came to SHIELD. She couldn't help staring at it, memories flooding back to her and the young woman resting a hand on the glass display.
It was still somewhat shredded from her final battle in the suit, seeing the largest tear along the side towards the abdomen, where the Wasp's monster had sliced her talon there and nearly defeated Anya if not for her magician friend. "Remind me to ask Fury to burn this before I leave." She muttered, an edge of sadness in her voice before heading for the training room, although she made a quick stop in the lockers to change into her newest attire.
