Bic: "Jarvis reboot the Ironman armor! What happened? I must've blacked out!" Tony called out as he felt his head a bit and realized it was searing from a pain that he hadn't felt in a long time. He must've hit his head on the armor and now on the suit it had a sharp dent that he was going to have to deal with as soon as I got the chance. he could hear Jarvis struggling to get the armor to work again, "Reboot started, 15 percent...30 percent...75...100 percent, armor successfully rebooted. However the other areas are going to have to be applied manually." Jarvis said as Tony's screen finally flickered on as he got a glimpse of what was going on around him. Tony was also having trouble remembering what had hahppened but he knew he had been shot out of the sky by some kind of weapon or missle by accident despite him calling out that he was coming for a good reason and not trying to cause any harm towards others. Apparently the military had other ideas.
"Well that's the last time I take a route towards LA through my Ironman suit I thought I'd be able to make it no problem." Tony said with a sigh as he tried to stand but his body ached from the pain as he left a huge crater in the sand. Surely someone would've noticed the Ironman suit by now.
"Jarvis can you release the Ironman suit I need to gather my bearings without being in a claustrophobic space." Tony said and Jarvis obeyed as the ironman suit shrunk down into a suit case forum. As Tony looked around he could see that the beach had pretty much been deserted and there weren't any civillains around just yet as the beach appeared closed. If he had been sent flying any further he would've landed in the ocean and drowned. Tony quickly dismissed this as he looked up at Los Angeles and noticed a few new buildings he hadn't seen before, one of them was Campbell INC, or maybe something along the lines of that. Despite having the feeling that he should go to the hospital he trusted that his healing factor would at least take care of things here. "Well I guess I know where I am going." Tony said.
"Are you sure, Mr. Stark? Maybe you should take it easy at first. You hit your head pretty hard." Jarvis suggested.
"You worry about me a whole lot and sometimes more than I'd like, Jarvis I think having my heart become a magnetic generator is bad enough and now you worry about my head?" Tony said with a soft shrug knowing he could've been in better shape but still he trugged on towards the Campbell building.
Normally, Arno would not be concerned with the matters of the military in the area unless they required some kind of tech support or repairs, having foregone the weapons part. He wasn't particularly fond of dealing in weaponry and such after what had happened thus far with Stark Industries, so he was keeping his business strictly to certain other concerns. But, as he was coming from a meeting, he was given a notice my Alhkema about an alert of something being shot down, initially expected to be someone of foreign concerns or a UFO of some kind.
Though he was a little reluctant to truly do some investigation, Arno knew sooner or later something would be done. Never a dull moment around LA, if it's not a turf war it's something else." He sighed as he quickly walked to his office, having a long stride and quick pace, trying to be somewhat discrete as he moved until he came into his office, the windows tinting dark so no one could see inside. Setting aside his suitcase, he stepped back and held out his arms as he tilted his head, liquid metal forming around his body to completely cover him on a mental command. The metal soon shaped itself into his own version of Ironman known as Iron Guardian and a window nearby sliding open. "Where to?" He inquired to his AI, a female voice soon responding, "Due towards the coast sir. I suggest exercising caution, who knows what it might be." "Of course." With that said, Arno took to the skies and shot off towards the nearby beaches, knowing flying this way it was a rather short distance to cover, his scanners on high alert. Not that he had to wait as they picked up on a signal he knew well enough, the Sam signal given off by the Ironman armor, surprising Arno that his brother may potentially be way over here on the opposite coast. But what reason would he have to be here? Unless he had gotten word of Iron Guardian, which meant he might have to reveal himself earlier than expected.
Still, Arno knew he had to be calm and handle this situation like any other. He soared over the area, scanning the signal until he spotted Tony himself making his way towards the city, in the direction of Carbonell Incomporafed no less. "Mr.Stark!" Arno called out, lowering down towards the man and switching to his anti-gravity converters to remain hovering in place while his thrusters became idle. "Sorry for the rough welcome, things have been rather tense in the past decade, sure you can understand their suspicions." Arno apologized towards the act of the military, giving a slight nod of his head in greeting. "But please, don't let that deter you from visiting Los Angeles, some of us are more than welcoming to our guests." Arno told him before he finally landing, kicking up some dust as the armor released some hot energy from ventilation.
He then held out his hand in greeting towards Tony, "Pleasure to meet you in person though Mr.Stark, I've been a big fan for sometime now of your exploits." Arno stated, tone more than welcoming and excited to finally meet his brother.
"Excuse me?" Tony asked still a bit dazed as he saw the younger man leave. "I get shot out of the sky and get my armor half destroyed and dented and all you can say is sorry? I'd like you to see how it feels in my shoes." Tony said clearly looking a bit annoyed and up set that this had happened. "Try at least greeting the Avengers a bit differently." He said still getting some of the sand out of some rather uncomfortable areas like his shoes, and as well as underneath his shirt where it got stuck to his skin. He knew if Jamie found out about this she probably would've been upset too.
"Mister stark if you have been listenig he just said he was a big fan of yours." The AI said with a british tone towards him. Tony didn't seem all that interested in it. Still as he looked Arno over, he couldn't help but he had a feeling of familiarity. He did his best to brush it a side, he really did. But it nagged at him a bit and wouldn't go away. "That's impossible too I don't think I've seen you before either." Tony admitted as he then removed some of the sand out of his hair. "Yeah I heard him Jarvis I'm still mad as heck though. Anyone would be." He said with a grumble. He knew some medical attention was probably in order and then a shower too to get the sand out of some unwanted places too.
After taking a few deep breaths Tony sighed, Arno didn't really need to be yelled at, it wasn't his fault. But the security measures around here sure were tight as ever. And he didn't blame them for it. "I guess I can say I'm sorry for acting angry a few minutes ago. Today's not been an easy day. I've got sand in so many places I didn't think could fit there." He said with a sigh. "And I'm pretty sure I hit my head on something that probably needs to be looked at. And nice to meet you, Arno. " Tony said but he did appear to be a bit annoyed but not towards Arno. Perhaps it'd go away after a bit once he collected his thoughts and things. Or if Arno wanted to help he thought that was incredibly nice. Or not at all anyways. That was fine with him too.
Arno was taken aback by Tony's angered tone, immediately stepping back as he lowered his hand, a bit disappointed that their first meeting wasn't exactly going well. He could understand Tony's frustrations with tight security but it seemed a little much to be throwing his anger all towards him. Not like he was aware of Tony's unfortunate entry in the first place. "With all do respect Mr.Stark, I wasn't even aware of what happened until Alkhema mentioned it. I do apologize for the rough treatment, but you have to understand sometimes the world is not always peaceful wherever you go." Arno pointed out, still apologizing but making it clear things weren't always sunshine and rainbows despite what the Avengers had and others had done.
"Look, let me take you back to my building, we have showers and a fairly decent infirmary staff. If your head injury is still of concern we can take you to the hospital." Arno assured him, mentally sending the command to his AI who gave an acknowledgement, already making the entries in. Once more the man tried to be nice, holding out his hand to indicate Carbonell Inc., "Allow me to escort you myself in fact, I guarantee you'll be amazed what we do there." The man sounded both confident and prideful of his accomplishment, knowing he had started modestly and now was running a decent business. Not that he would admit he was being backed by one of the most notorious organizations on the planet.
"You can say that again." Tony agreed as the man nodded. There were rumors about the Dark Avengers and other bad teams that were showing up. Not to mention he was still aware of his time in the Age of Ultron. That really worried him if he had to go back there, what would he find? He would probably find that the humans that were remaining were all dead...or just barely surviving. The guilt would always be there.
"Well that sounds better." Tony said as he looked up seeing that Arno was at least trying to show where Carbonell Inc was, it seemed to match Stark Industries almost just as decently in the height of the sky scrapers. Though Stark Industries also had a part in playing with the Avengers tower, and nobody could equal that. "Well I'll take the shower and the infirmary and you're forgiven." Tony said rubbing his head as he felt where the large bruise was and he knew it wasn't going to go away any time soon. "And I wouldn't mine an escort either." Tony added giving a soft nod. "Jarvis can you send another Ironman armor in the direction of the Carbonell Inc?" And the AI responded.
"So you've got an AI of yourself? That's something only that geniuses are able to make. Unless you're one yourself." Tony pointed out as he watched the older man as he offered a ride back. His Ironman suit was pretty much useless at this point. He wondered what he was in store for when he stepped through the Carbonell inc. He was feeling a bit better, but he had a funny feeling that the infirmary was probably best. He was just being stubborn, and probably frustrated at this point in time too.
"Lucky for you my company is big enough to have both." Arno told him, his armor shifting back around to cover his form and take the shape of a similar appearance to the Iron Man armor, although looking sleeker and more defined in shape, the liquid metal seeming to shimmer before taking complete shape. "You could say I'm a genius in my own way. I like to consider it looking at the world in a different perspective than some might." Arno spoke, his tone having a robotic edge to it, sending out a few tendrils to wrap around Tony securely, before taking flight, but being quite gentle as he flew, not wanting to jar his brother around by mistake.
"The infirmary is on the second floor, dedicated to nothing but that." He explained as he headed to the building, looking back at Tony and couldn't help the smile that formed on his face behind his mask, knowing Tony wouldn't be able to see it. "We have some showers near by, so you can shower first before getting your head checked, and some fresh clothes will be awaiting you too when you get out." Arno explained, a window sliding open near the second floor and the man kicking on his gravity inverters to slowly lower down before his feet touched the marbled floors and he lowered Tony in next to him, the window sliding closed behind them and the man held out his arms as the liquid metal seemed to melt away into his body.
Finally, Arno revealed his full build, being rather decent in height and build, having an almost distinguishing look that could resemble Tony himself. But, Arno knew some might just take it as a coincidence, the man wearing casual formal attire. "Feel free to do what you need Tony, once you're done we can have a proper chat, if the hospital visit isn't required of course." Arno told him kindly, smiling and gesturing towards the showers nearby.
"I like the sound of that, I'm sorry about my temper earlier, to be honest I was just annoyed that I got shot out of the sky but I understand now why you did it." Tony said with a sigh. "But next time look to make sure you're not shooting down a fellow hero there are many other fliers besides me." Tony said putting up a bit of advice towards Arno and he was certain he didn't want to hear it but it was at least worth a try. "I think I'll get my head looked at and then take a shower, I think I got dirt in places I didn't even think I could get dirt in." Tony explained as he picked up his suit case which looked like it was just in bad shape as he was.
"Now how 'bout that? You're able to carry a passenger, that was something I wasn't so keen about with the armor." Tony remarked as he saw that they were being lifted into the air. By now Tony had gotten so used to the flying part that heights didn't bother him too much. Though a civilian probably would've by now. Then it wasn't long before the flight was over as he put a hand up to fix his ruffled hair that had been a bit messy by the wind. After a bit he managed to fix it but he knew a shower might do a better job.
"Hm not too bad of a place. So far you've even managed to impress me on everything here." Tony said as he looked around at the giant building that Arno probably called home. "Well I guess it's to the medical room first, the only problem is I don't exactly know where it is." Tony pointed out since it had been his first time here.
"Like I said before Tony, you being shot out of the sky wasn't my doing. I'm not in the weapons business nor do I have the intention to. We make our money purely on the use of technology and advancements," Arno corrected politely, knowing the man had every right to be irritated but the advice wasn't exactly being directed at the right person. "How it is used sometimes is out of my hands. If weaponry is what comes into play then the liability falls on those who sell the product, of which I hope does not end up being the case." Arno added, tone almost casual since he knew it was a problem in the past with Stark Industries when they had been deep in the weapons business. It was one thing he did not wish to repeat with his own company.
But he made a motion for Tony to follow, "All you have to do is take a few steps Tony, and you're here." Arno came to the entrance of the infirmary, which at the moment had little activity and some people there for minor injuries at the moment. A few even greeted Arno when he stepped inside, coming right up to the check in desk, "Miss Laura, please take good care of my guest will you? He had a nasty take out while flying here, just put any tests under my own tab if you don't mind." He said kindly to the woman who peered around, eyes wide when seeing Tony. "Of course Mr.Carbonell, we'll take good care of him." The woman assured him, causing Arno to simply smile before he finally turned his attention back to Tony.
"You should be set now Tony. One of the doctors or nurses on hand will examine your injuries then you should be set to get all cleaned up. Just meet me in my office when you're done, Alkhema will gladly guide you when you are ready." He told him, knowing there was something else he had to handle real quick.
"Well then it was probably the security around here or even police force for that matter." Tony pointed out if it hadn't been Arno he was easily ready to put the blame on someone else. If he found out SHIELD had done it, which he already had sour ties to it he would only worsen them here between the intelligent man and SHIELD. None the less he wouldn't hold a grudge on Arno for very long, Tony could be forgiving. If there was anyone who deserved it, it was Ultron for that matter.
"Jarvis said after the fall to check my head, and I probably will admit I didn't exactly listen to him. That AI has been checking everything from vitals since I got my arch reactor." Tony pointed out as he looked back seeing that Arno was leaving. He didn't blame him the guy was pretty busy. Though he heard the woman mention the name Carbonell. At first he would've easily dismissed it. But upon a thought there was a wave of familiarity in it as he thought he heard that name a long time ago. Names meant a lot to Tony even with his first name Stark had been something that had been around for some time. The Starks could trace their family way back, though his parents weren't exactly a family someone would've desired. His father was hardly around.
"Alright, Thank you Arno I'll see you when I'm done here." Tony pointed out as he stepped in the room that was filled with medical beds and other various items that he needed. He sat down on one of the beds with his armor right be side him. He was just grateful that those weapons didn't kill him. The armor had the worst of it. "So where do you want to start?" He asked the nurse knowing his face was probably all bruised and battered to add to it.
(Gonna do a time skip for this Yanks, help these two actually getting to a real talk. XD)
Like Arno had asked, a couple of nurses and an on-the-call doctor helped to get Tony patched up and making sure there were no serious injuries. Far as they had found, his armor had taken a brunt of the impact, leaving him with maybe more bruising than anything and at most he probably had a mild concussion which was definitely lucky. When the nurses were done handling some final bandages they finally stepped back, "You should be good now Mr.Stark, seems you were a bit luckier than your armor at the moment." The nurse assured him, giving a small smile to show she meant well and that he was in better shape than he might have thought.
As if on cue, a female voice soon spoke, coming from a small machine pad nearby, projecting a auburn haired female hologram that spoke in the voice of Alkhema. "Mister Stark, I got the notice your treatment was complete. I can guide you to Master Arno, but I do warn he is in a bit of a spat right now so you may have to wait a bit longer." Alkhema told him, gesturing for him to follow her and the hologram heading from the infirmary towards the elevator, waiting for Tony to step in before taking him upstairs. It was but a few more floors up before they would be stepping out, heated voices coming from down the hall where Arno's office was.
Arno was in the middle of a heated discussion with what appeared to be a slightly older man wearing a dark suit, his tie having green and black that almost seemed to starkly contrast against his white and black suit. "I told you what those parts were for, and that is strictly their function." Arno growled slightly, his fists clenched to the point his knuckles were white, his face flushed from anger while the older man seemed just as ticked. "Carbonell, I am also telling you this cannot work. We need more modifications, better security, you already know the stipulations of this partnership." The man responded in kind but Arno narrowed his eyes coldly, "And I've told you and Sinthea that what I give you work with before I make any attempts to correct something. So try." He snarled back, only just being aware that they were not alone and the older man giving Tony a hateful scowl when seeing him.
