Lila listened as Kaine explained more about his powers and watched as he showed his stringers." I think it's cool that you have all these super powers especially that you can talk to bugs. So since you have stringers why are you called Scarlet-Spider and not Bee-Man instead or something like that?"asked Lila.

Lila then paused in her drawing and then went to pet Lucky for a second and then got back to drawing."Also you do know that I was joking about the whole barn thing ,right? I thought since you said earlier that you were like Spider-Man I was making a Charlotte's Web joke but you didn't get the joke did you?"asked Lila.

As Lila waited for answers to her new questions, she once more put her feet up onto the coffee table and got comfortable again. Then she went back to drawing, soon she got done drawing and then place the pencil back into the pencil bag and then pulled out a blue colored pencil. She was now coloring parts of her picture blue.

"Well to be honest, I believe the media or newspapers back then started calling me Scarlet Spider by the suit that I was wearing. it's black and red and has two spider insignia on it." Kaine said, he sent his stingers back, as he took out his phone and did a search on his own name. He didn't do it that often but every once in awhile he checked the media to see what the press or the public thought, some called him a vigilante and others called him a hero. To be honest he wasn't sure what he was. "See? Black and red." He said finding a picture of him swinging past a crowd of people who looked a bit surprised.

"If you want, when it's cooler outside from the summer heat, I can show you what I can do." Kaine added. "But I do appreciate it that you think my powers are cool, for awhile I struggled with that side to figure out if they were a curse or not." Kaine admitted knowing if he tried to fit in with a regular life he simply couldn't. Scarlet Spider was always going to be a part of him no matter what they did, unless he found a way to rid himself of his powers. Kaine wondered if Lila would take the offer, but they couldn't do it now, in the summer heat it'd be far too hot, and he'd probably get tired much faster.

"And no I didn't get the joke, I'm not much of a joking person...Some of my friends said I needed to work on that part." Kaine admitted knowing he hadn't really had much of a humor though he did recognize the story that Lila had been talking about. Some of the younger generation probably knew it far better than he did. But it involved a farm pig and a spider getting along...was that an odd combination or what? "But I have heard of the movie, they did do a good representation on spiders at least." He said with a soft nod giving her that part of approval.

Lila paused in her coloring and then she looked at the picture that Kaine had showed to her. The first thought had come to Lila mind was that he looked like a goth version of spider-man. After looking at the picture Lila got back to coloring."So I don't mean to sound rude or anything but  the color of your hero outfit just makes me think that your like a secret goth and is wondering do you listen to Ozzy when crime fighting."said Lila.

Lila then went on to listen to more of what Kaine had to say as he spoke about showing her his powers and the fact that he didn't have a sense of humor all that much. Hearing that he didn't have much of a sense of humor made Lila raise one eyebrow slight and then got a questioning look on her face. I find it hard to believe that you don't find anything funny, everybody has something they find funny. Now as for Charlotte's web I guess does show spider in a good light and if you want your more then welcome to borrow our book that we have for the story."said Lila.

Lila then got done coloring with blue colored pencil and put it back into the bag. She then pulled out a yellow pencil and then started to color once more.

Ooc: Heay Lila I was wondering if it was alright if I played Laura's mom in this just for this thread? Might help things get a bit interesting so she can introduce other family members got to see Kaine.

"Well I don't want to copy Spider-Man's suit that just seems wrong in my book." Kaine admitted. "There are other spider heroes out there who have their own uniform and everything so I guess every one of us is unique in our own way with our own set of powers." Kaine added as he put his phone away in his pocket seeing that he might need it or if he had any other communications with SHIELD in the future. For now it seemed like tonight would be a quiet evening as far as he could tell. Still he felt horribly out of place here, and he had a feeling that wouldn't go away any time soon.

"Ok I do laugh sometimes the only two who have managed to do it is my girlfriend and Spider-Man. And sounds good I'll take a look at the book when we've got some free time." Kaine admitted, he noticed how Lila had looked at him rather funny like that.. From the looks of this job this might be a bit harder than he thought. Though he wondered now if Lila was going to find a way to make him laugh, if she was up for the challenge it was going to be a tough one. Kaine always found himself being the tough and rough guy around the block even defending those on occasions who were weaker.

"I think I hear someone." Kaine added as he looked up and thought he heard a car rolling up in the drive way. His spidey sense hadn't gone of just yet or anything which meant there wasn't a sign of danger this time. It could've also been the rest of Lila's family that he was about to meet. It also may be the case that this family may once more turn his life in a new direction just as the Web Warriors had done in the past.

Lila paused in her coloring as she listen to the sounds in the background after Kaine had pointed them out. As she listened closely Lila could hear the familiar voice of her mother."That's mom alright and sounds like she has all of my brothers with her too."said Lila.

Lila then looked up at Kaine once more.I hope you your ready to deal with the pains in the butts that are my called my brothers."said Lila. After she got done speaking Lila then went and put her sketch book on coffee table along with her pencil bag and then she got up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen area and and got her self something to drink.


Now as for the dog Lucky he jumped off the couch and ran over to the front door and started making happy barking sounds and was wagging his tail all happy like.

"Well I'm glad I was an only child in the family that I was raised in." Kaine said half heartedly. It was still odd that he called Spider-Man his brother he only recently found out that he was a clone and there were severe differences between the two of them. His features, for one were the main part he looked different with his blonde hair and a bit smaller build. The personality was the second part, Kaine wasn't all that funny. Regardless, he wasn't sure if he'd ever call Peter his brother, he would always be alone. "Oh boy." Kaine said as he got up a bit reluctantly as he heard the car doors open and it wasn't long before the rest of the family came in the first was a younger boy who looked a bit surprised to see Kaine but happy to see his sister. Laura was next when she came in with the youngest boy and he seemed like he was just walking too.

Kaine already started getting bombarded with questions like, Who are you mister? What's your name? Do you have super powers?" All things he already had been asked by Lila and it wasn't long before an older woman arrived and she looked like she had a busy day back there, but she enjoyed it. "Oh leave Mr. Riley alone he's had a long day just as we have he's a guest here." Laura said as Kaine shrugged a bit awkwardly as he did his best to respond and Lila already knew those questions.

"I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get you at school, Lila it was clear that SHIELD wanted to make sure you came home safely with Mr. Riley and you have from the looks of it." She explained after putting various bags of what looked like food on the table. "Yes it wasn't a problem getting Lila back she knows he way here. She's very independent like myself." Kaine added seeing she was able to keep herself busy as they waited for the rest of the family. The only one who wasn't here was Hawkeye and as usual their father was busy at work being a SHIELD agent and also an Avenger, but it payed the bills.

"How about you stay for dinner, and you'll be able to stay in the guest room when you want, or you're free to come and go." She said glad to see that Kaine and Lila were getting along. Though she couldn't help but notice a very different personality between the two of them. It was odd that SHIELD paired them up if they had anything in common it would be a surprise. But Kaine had a good heart and so did Lila, maybe that was the thing that might work here.

Lila stood there silently for a second watching her mom and older brothers talk to Kaine while she drink her glass of water. When her mom however address her Lila just shrugged her shoulders and put her empty water glass in the sink. "It's not that big of a deal mom but anyhow were is the rest of my big brothers."said Lila.

Lila then walked over to the table and started taking things out of the bags that Laura had brought home. Lila then started putting the canned food up in the pantry. However as she was putting stuff way Lila found that she had a few things that she had to place stuff at the very top. So Lila stood on her tip-toes and placed the food on the shelf.


Lila then walked over to the table once more and was about to grab some more thing when she remembered something. "Mr.Reiley I forgot to warn you we play lot of pranks and have nerf wars a lot."said Lila.

[Kaine Riley-Parker]

"They should be in now I think I saw your older brother head towards his room." Laura explained. "And thank you for helping with the groceries." She said with a soft smile towards her daughter. Kaine watched mostly seeing as it got a bit louder in the house, he might end up staying in the barn after all tonight as he sighed.

It looks like he'd have to be on his toes and rely on his spidey sense a bit more while he spent his time here. The family was not only mischievous but they also liked to pull pranks too. "It's alright, Lila I'm used to it from SHIELD at this point. One kid thought it would be funny to try and throw spit balls behind my back, my spidey sense went off as I dodged it and webbed them up in a corner for about 10 minutes as a punishment." Kaine said with a shrug seeing that it was pretty much life as usual with SHIELD and it might be no different here. He noticed how Lila was having a bit of trouble with reaching the top as he thought of something.

"Let me help you with that, Lila." He said as he jumped up a bit, they probably expected him to fall as he clung to the wall with no problem with a hand and one foot and climbed a bit higher to push the items further back that Lila had a bit of a problem. "With wall crawling you really don't have to worry about being short or anything." He said as he slid back down and landed on his feet again like he had done it before plenty of times. As Kaine was about to sit down again on the couch he couldn't help but feel a slight tingle of his spidey sense go off as it was nothing major. But before he could even react a nerf arrow went forward as he dodged it at the last second. "I guess that's what you meant by being hit with nerf arrows, someone just tried it." He said.

Lila listened as her mom told her that her big brother had went to his room and shrugged at this not really thinking much of when of it. After she had her mother talk she then started hearing Kaine talk and she looked up from the bags at the table she noticed that Kaine in now on the ceiling and she then watched as he pushed the cans on the top shelf on the pantry back so she can add the others ones.


"Thanks for the help."said Lila. After speaking Lila went carried the cans that she had in her hand over to the pantry and and went to putting them. As she was putting the cans she heard noise come from the living room and so she looked towards that way and saw that Kaine had almost got hit with a nerf arrow and she heard Kaine say he now knew what she meant when she gave him that warning.

"Just be thankful dad isn't here or you have no chance just ask mom."said Lila.

[Kaine Riley-Parker]

"You're welcome." Kaine added as he watched the others as they began to finish putting away the groceries. The ceiling wasn't too bad for him to climb on. He had been on top of sky scrapers that were about ten times or so higher than this. It was hard to say what the tallest thing had been that he climbed on. Oh well, it didn't matter really. He wasn't afraid of heights and he knew that was a big fear for some people.

"Yeah I think I'd have no chance with Hawkeye even with my spidey sense." Kaine said as he nodded back in agreement. "There are some things that I can't sense with it which is trouble some. Sometimes other spider heroes or villains often are immune to it so I can't tell when the danger would strike. Of course it comes with some common sense and reflexes." Kaine could've added a third one to that too, a bit of dumb luck.

"Yes he has excellent shot, many have said that he never misses." Laura said with a smile seeing that Kaine was starting to adjust to the family that was growing in the Barton house. She decided that it was time to get dinner ready and she'd make sure she'd have a spot for Kaine. "Dinner will be ready at 6:00pm if that's alright, with you two. Why don't you show Kaine more of our property, Lila? Like the barn and some of the animals." She offered as Kaine didn't seem so sure of it.

"Last time I got in a encounter with an animal it was my girlfriend's cats and I got all scratched up." Kaine said with a shrug. "I don't think I'm much of an animal person." He admitted. "But I'll at least try." He added knowing Lila and the others might be more familiar with the animals than he was. And he wasn't so sure about it. Luckily for him the scratches were minor and they healed fast with his healing factor.

Lila listened as both her mom and Kaine talked. Lila looked then look at her mom to give her the response of a mocking salute."Aye, Aye captain mom."said Lila. Lila then went and looked over at Kaine with a grin."Don't worry I won't the cows and chickens get you."said Lila.

Lila then looked back her mom."I'm gonna go head and get some of the eggs from the hen and maybe some of the vegetable from the garden mom."said Lila. After she got done speaking Lila then walked over to the kitchen counter picked a huge basket by it's handle and then Lila walked from the kitchen area, threw the living room to the front door. Lila then opened the door and held it open up for Kaine.


"Hope you don't mind getting your hands dirty pulling out vegetables from the ground and warning you might get poop on your shoes." said Lila.

"Well I've never done a lot of things like this, so it is certainly a first. Since I lived in the city I didn't have to worry about gardens or farm animals." Kaine observed but he seemed a bit reluctant at it at first. But he knew he had to stay by Lila weather or not the both of them liked it since it was a part of SHIELD's duty to make sure that she was safe. As Lila walked towards the door he followed after her and opened it up as they were outside once more again and heading towards the barn and the garden that the family had. It sure felt different with the fresh air from the looks of it, it was peaceful too not having New Yorkers yell at you for swinging or driving past them at high rates of speed either.

"To be honest, Lila, the super hero job is really the only thing I've ever known. I doubt I'd be able to handle a normal life like you guys have, here which is why I haven't retired like others." He admitted and not to mention he was still young. "There are probably a lot of firsts coming for me here but I'm willing to learn." He said remembering his days in Oscorp were not pleasant, especially when he received the painful spider venom injections.

"Hm it is peaceful out here." He said taking off his jacket seeing that he really wasn't going to need it. The sun was also hot too. It looked like he was about to get some hard work out of this one and would heat up rather fast from it. "So where do we begin? The chickens or the garden?" He asked, taking out a pair of gloves so he wouldn't get that dirty on them. As they got closer to the barn area he noticed that some of the horses were looking at him. they seemed a bit confused like they had just seen a stranger appraoch the farm which was pretty much the truth here.

Lila listened as Kaine talked and after she gone listening to him Lila then pointed in the direction of where the horses are at."We have cows also and that big white building cross the field there that is where we put the cows and horses up, we don't put them in the barn because that is we keep our tracker at and others tool at."said Lila


Lila then lead the way a little further up in till they came acrossed a fenced in area that held a building in the center of it."That's the chicken coop and I'll go in first and get them distracted from you by giving them corn feed but be warned head of time they come after you if ya have any red on."said Lila. After she got done speaking Lila then walked up to the gate and opened it to let herself in after she was inside the fenced area Lila closed the gate behind
her and then she waled over to a old wooden table that had a big brown bag on it. Lila placed the basket that she had been carrying onto the table and then she reached her hand into the bag and started throwing the feed all about where she was.

After a few good moments all the chickens where near Lila busy eating. Lila looked from the chicken towards Kaine and did a hand signal as she gave the okay for him to enter the coop.

Good thing I'm not wearing my suit and I'll keep a note of that. He thought to himself since his scarlet Spider suit was a decent amount of red on it. He listened to Lila as she explained the variety of animals that were kept on the farm. When they first entered, he didn't realize how big this place was from the looks of things, or the chores that they did pretty much daily. "Sounds good to me." He said with a soft nod as Lila entered the chicken coop. It wasn't long before the chickens surrounded her, suppose if he had too he could've climbed up on the netting that was holding it, but the coop itself might've not been strong enough to hold his weight. So he was probably taking a gamble with that.

Once Lila gave him a signal he went into the coop after her finding where the food was pretty easy to get too as he put the food in the grate. Once this was done he knew that the food would probably make the chickens come running over towards this area as he began to back up and get out of the way. "Alright we're good with that. I suppose you want the eggs next?" He asked grateful that his spidey sense hadn't gone off just yet. It would probably be something he'd have to rely on a lot around the animals since he didn't know them as well as Lila did. He also knew he was a definite city man, having lived most of his life in New York City.

"I guess this opened up my eyes a bit, never been to a farm. I stayed in the city for most of my life. It's quiet here, too for the most part, I like that side of it." He added making a note to come up and climb into the trees to look at the stars one night. Usually in New York, you couldn't do that either. The stars were pretty much hidden by the light pollution. So far though he was grateful that he didn't have to jump into his spider suit, he was glad he could get a break from it. Sometimes being a super hero all the time could be a bit challenging and draining.

"Yep it's time to into the coop and get the eggs. Well I can tell you this being on farm it's a lot of hard work and trust the quiet I might seem nice and stuff but sometimes it also makes it feel very lonely sometimes because it's somewhat of a long way from town.But lucky for me I have my family."said Lila.

Lila then picked up the basket from the wooden table and walked over to the hen house. She then walked into the coop and then started looking at eggs and collecting them and putting them into the basket with ease."Make sure to look at the coloring of the egg and also if there is a smell." said Lila.
