For most people six o' clock in the morning was...incredibly early, maybe too early for any normal person to be awake. Some people dragged themselves out of bed, half asleep and half-heartedly getting themselves ready for the day or work. Others woke up to do a routine and seemed to be chipper and joyful for such mornings, to see the early morning rising against the skyline, first rays of orange and yellow reflecting of the smooth, metal surface of New York's buildings.
James was something in between there. He wasn't exactly chipper to be awake but he had become use to a habit of waking up an hour before dawn and getting himself into a routine. He would work out first thing before showing quickly and then head out to get breakfast. Such was the morning that he was stretching as he made his way towards the kitchen, giving a loud, long yawn as his muscles stretched and joints popped from cramps, getting out some left over chicken from dinner a few nights back, some eggs, and bacon. He grabbed some other things after he got the stove running to get hot and had a large pan on top.
His first step was getting the bacon cooked first, slapping a handful of pieces to cover the pan bottom, sizzling the moment it met hot metal. "Man, way too early. Never can be normal like any other kid." He grumbled, not being quite fully awake as he waited for the bacon and mixed the eggs and milk to ready for an omelet he was planning to make.
Though, just as he was shredding the chicken next James paused as he thought he heard approaching footsteps. At first he shook this off as simply his tired mind playing tricks on him but the steps were growing gradually closer as he finished his task, casting his green eyes up to see who the steps belonged to and was greeted by one of the older Avengers, the blond haired woman known as Jamie Starflame. She was not exactly the most social of the Avengers but in the little time he had been with them he had learned that she was actually quite pleasant to be around and supposedly had more in common with him than he really realized.
"If it isn't the future Mrs.Stark," James greeted with a light hearted teasing tone, though there was still the edge of a half-asleep person in his voice. "Thought I was the only early bird this morning, I'll admit that much Ms.Starflame. But glad to see a fellow early riser." He greeted her properly flipping over the bacon once more to make sure it wasn't too crunchy before adding the eggs and chicken into the pan next.
