James "Jimmy" Hudson Junior
PERSONALITY Jimmy is more like his father than many might expect. He has a fairly rugged personality, to the point is feral nature often shines though. He is very quick tempered and irritable, his patience sometimes wearing thin quicker than normal and he often times will go full on animal if someone presses him too far. He shows himself to be rather argumentative, combative, and very competitive, mainly coming from his feeling both rebellious and independent, with a hint of his feral nature playing a part in how he interacts with people. If he feels they are up to snuff, he takes a great fun in having a little competition or finding a rival, knowing he does not have many on a superhuman level. Among those feral feelings, Jimmy is vocal and very prideful. He does not like to beat around the bush nor sugar coat things, feeling letting someone know what is going on or what has happened needs to be heard rather than them having false hope. He will gladly speak his mind of how he feels about a situation or how he feels about someone, whether it is negative or positive. He also knows he is good at what he does, especially when he puts his mind to it, and knows he has rather rugged, attractive physique that he likewise inherited from Logan. This does somewhat show an arrogant and proud side to Jimmy, sometimes even expressing overconfidence, but he is a bit more modest in this simply tries to do things to the best of his ability. Still, between the Hudsons and Wolverine, Jimmy has become much more like his father than that of his brother Daken. Jimmy expresses concern for those who cannot defend themselves and displays a protective and determined side among everything. His anger is quick and he holds a great love for combat, relishing it even, but that does not stop him from doing what he feels is right, willing to go against orders and authority to do what is necessary. Jimmy can also be described as having great intellect and love for improvising, but he does try to show some restraint in his usual attitude. If the time calls for it, Jimmy has learned to have a slightly calmer, more restraint side, but the latter is normally difficult in some situations, in which case he tries to redirect impatience and anger into biting, sarcastic remarks. HISTORY Jimmy’s origin in this Universe is different from that of his Ultimate Counterpart. Instead, he was one of the many attempts by Weapon Plus to create a mutant using his DNA that could equal or even surpass Logan himself in just about every way. The DNA was gathered from Logan’s earlier time among the Weapon X program and was mixed with an unknown woman’s DNA to conceive him, his DNA isolated to ensure he was a mutant when he grew. This was a similar method they used with X-23 when she was created as a clone and it was intended that the child be put into a surrogate. They did just this when they found a likely candidate from a local clinic for a woman seeking to have a child when her and her husband could not. Nine months later, Jimmy was born but he was barely in the world when Weapon X moved in and snatched the baby, using operatives operating within the hospital to organize the kidnapping. Unfortunately, Weapon X had their own mole to deal with thanks to the Canadian government catching wind of another illegally run lab by their former associates, sending Alpha Flight to move against them. The team caught up with Weapon Plus en route to their base of operations where a fight ensued, and one of the team members was able to successfully extract the young Jimmy, who was screaming with fright and only settled down once things had finished. Among them, Vindicator decided to adopt the child, him and his wife, Heather McNeil-Hudson, already having their daughter of a year at home by the name of Claire. With business taken care of and paper work signed, Jimmy legally was adopted into the Hudson family and was raised with adoptive sister. The Hudsons tried to raise their children in as normal life as they could offer, but with their secondary lives as heroes this was not always the case and the children were often exposed to such a life, especially when the rest of Alpha Flight visited. Jimmy became especially interested in their many tales, often dreaming of being a hero himself. During a young age, Heather and James decided to train their children in hand-to-hand, concerned of them being able to defend themselves if they could not be around. But between them, only Jimmy seemed to take a serious interest in the practices while Claire seemed to express more interest in a normal life rather than that of a hero. While life continued on normal for the family, Jimmy’s teen years quickly seemed to arrive before his adoptive parents’ eyes, becoming something more feral, independent, and far more interested in girls than his grades. His athletic physique and looks seemed to earn Jimmy quick popularity starting in middle school, balancing these with his grades and training proving to be both a thrill and pain, but something he was willing to deal with. Unfortunately, at the age of thirteen, Weapon Plus finally discovered Jimmy’s whereabouts and sent their agents to subdue him after wrestling practice. Though fearful and confused, Jimmy made no hesitation to defend himself, secretly texting his parents in during the fight before his phone was crushed and Claire was likewise taken hostage, much to Jimmy’s dismay and rage. Claire’s life was threatened if Jimmy didn’t come quietly, but the cry of his sister as they handled her roughly caused something to snap in the young man, popping his claws at that moment and snarling as he lunged at the men. Their parents arrived in time to help and calm Jimmy down before he completely lost himself, shocked when he did come off the semi-berserk state. The two were taken home and his parents finally confessed the truth to Jimmy and who his father was, leaving Jimmy silent for some time and left to ponder what to do next, knowing the truth now changed many aspects of his life in more ways than one. But after some thought, Jimmy decided to use the gifts he inherited from Logan to make a change in the world, approaching his adoptive parents to train as a government agent like themselves. Though they were unsure, they decided to give it a shot and soon Jimmy was brought into the Alpha Flight Training program, where his newly manifested mutant powers began to come into shape. For four years he trained hard while going to school, his popularity never waning and his athletics helping to keep him in shape as much as his daily training regimen. During his high school years, he became involved with one young red haired woman, showing his interest in red heads, something shared by his father but it ended when they graduated and at eighteen he was officially considered done with his training. But, Jimmy surprised his family and Alpha Flight by becoming a solo agent for the Canadian government instead and on the side hired out his services to certain people as a mercenary. Something of which he has done for the past year, up until he ran across the X-men. It is quite recently that after finishing a recent job, Jimmy stumbled across some of the X-men’s younger members during an outing and was mistaken for his father. Curious, Jimmy was invited to the mansion and has decided to join the team to see what life is like among them as opposed to Alpha Flight. Powers Superhuman Durability: Where Jimmy’s father has greater strength, Jimmy inherited a far more durable form. His muscle cells, skin tissue, and bone cells are far more durable than a normal human, being reinforced within the sinew, tendons, and more to make him exceptionally difficult to injure, allowing him to endure great amounts of force, falling from great heights, and taking more punishment with little to mild discomfort. Superhuman Reflexes: Jimmy has a far greater reaction time than a normal human, being capable of dodging blows up close or from a few feet away. Superhuman Agility: Jimmy’s agility, balance, and bodily coordination are above some of the finest human athletes, being able to perform complex maneuvers and move along narrow ways without complete concern. He is far more limber and more reactive than most, even more so than his father since he is rarely weighed down by metal in or on his body. Superhuman Stamina: Largely due to his healing factor, Jimmy’s body produces considerably less fatigue toxins in his body and allows him to exert himself beyond the natural human limit, being able to push himself for 24 hours before he starts to show fatigue. Superhumanly Acute Senses: Jimmy senses of sight, smell, and hearing are all heightened to some degree of superhuman accuracy. He can see much further and with greater clarity than a normal human, even retaining much of this clarity even in near total darkness. Jimmy's hearing is similarly enhanced, enabling him to detect sounds normal humans cannot and sounds they ordinarily could but at much greater distances. Jimmy's sense of smell is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if they are well hidden. He can track a target by scent, even if the scent has been greatly eroded by time and weather factors, with an extraordinary degree of success. (From Marvel Database) Regenerative Healing Factor: Jimmy’s healing factor is three times faster than that of a normal human, said to be on par with Wolverine himself. His bodies healing cells are able to heal minor wounds within seconds and major wounds within hours, although each time he still feels the pain and ghostly form of it lingers after a while. But, it has made him immune to infection, alcohol, Earthly diseases, mild doses of drugs and has extended his lifespan, although it has not made him immortal. Jimmy also has a natural defense against telepathy compared to his father who had to be taught to defense against telepathic attacks or control, although he will feel the pain of it his mind heals as rapidly as his physical form. Retractable Bone Claws: Jimmy inherited his father’s bone claws, three in each hand that are about a foot long. He can extend these from between his knuckles at will, with the bone being somewhat smooth but slightly serrated along the under edges. These are durable enough to tear through trees and human sinew, and to puncture weak metals. +Organic Metal Secretion: A unique power of his own is that Jimmy can secrete organic metal in select spots on his body. This metal secretion is usually done on a whim or subconsciously, normally covering his claws and his teeth to make them more durable and do far greater damage, this metal being able to take a fair bit of punishment before it begins to break away but can be replaced. Jimmy has only recently learned he can also apply this to his bone structure, making his bones more durable but still can be cracked or broken if great force is applied or constant punishment.
