When the Nightmare Ends (Katherine)

[Kaine Riley-Parker]

"Where am I?" Kaine looked up in a dream as he saw a monster standing before him. it stood before him as he saw nothing around them but webbing. His right hand burned like he had just used the acid ability that he had also known as the Mark of Kaine. It burned so bad as he saw the monster had a big burn on his left side right above his chest area. He hissed at the pain but he knew it would only be permanent. "Stop running from your destiny because now you will be with me. The Other." The monster said as he put a hand down on his side as Kaine felt the monster's cold touch.

That was when the nightmare ended.

Kaine woke up in a bit of a start that morning from what had happened he could only question it now if it had been real or it had been a dream. He was gasping a bit and he finally recovered knowing any sign of panic from him would've been real bad. He went to the sink where the water was in the bathroom as he cleaned off his face. "My destiny is here. I don't get it." He said as he saw the pain on his face also as he saw the burn marks all over his hands. If Katherine saw that he didn't know what he would think. With his healing factor it would pass in time but he knew he better tell her before things got worse. He glanced over at the time to see that it was about 7:00am he actually was late technically for SHIELD buisness but he hadn't planned on going to the Web Warriors today.

"Katherine? Are you around? I might need some medical...uh assistance." Kaine said looking around for Katherine. He didn't want their three kids to panic that he nearly lost control with his powers. He knew when he was young he was still learning about them. And SHIELD had helped too but he knew deep down he'd never have full control. His hand was red with deep gashes all over it from the acid but it would heal it would probably take all day though.

Katherine ears suddenly perked when she heard him yelling which scared her more then anything. She didn't know that he had lost control of his powers due to a nightmare that he was having.She was very early riser because she had some mother duties to attention to such of make sure that everyone is getting their breakfast she was breastfeeding Kiaoa and she put the baby down.The young woman was very worried about her husband as he said that he needed medical assistance .

She saw that he had a gash on him and her eyes widen " I will get you hospital right away Kaine i will text May to watch the kids " she suddenly pressed the button on her watch and their was flash of light as the inducer changed her into her white haired human appearance.She texted May to get her watch their children for them since she didn't want to kids to know that something happened to their father. She wouldn't know what she would do if something horrible happened to Kaine it would kill her inside.


She quickly picked up her keys and started started to lead him to the car hoping that he was able to get there. She was going to take him to normal hospital since it was much closer than just taking him to Xavier school.She was suppose to be at work today but she would have to let them know that she would late her main priority was the man she loved and wanted to make sure that he made it there safe.

"Katherine I don't want to go to the hospital." Kaine said knowing they'd ask him a million questions. How did you acid burn yourself? How did you get it on your hands? Where do you live so you can investigate? All of them came pilling in on him as he thought about it and he just didn't want to go. Not to mention the nerves he had on this all bothered him too. As Katherine got ready he could only think of one place that would really accept him without asking a million questions they were already on his files at SHIELD.

"Katherine you can call May over but I don't want to just go to any hospital I'd rather go to SHIELD's hospital since they knew what happened. I'd say I got an acid burn in my sleep." Kaine admitted. He felt ashamed that they were doing this and the fact that his powers went bad. "I know this is going to sound crazy but I lashed out at someone in a nightmare I had. They were threatening me and everyone else so I used the Mark of Kaine. It's an acid burn." Kaine admitted with a sigh knowing Katherine at least deserved to tell the whole story about what had happened. Their kids didn't need to know maybe the best way to describe it to the twins was that 'daddy had an accident' which was the best thing that he could come up with unless Katherine could think of something else.

"Is it alright we go to the SHIELD Hellicarrier, Katherine? That's the only place I feel safe." Kaine asked as they got ready to leave he at least got a jacket and he knew Peter and the others would probably want to hear everything that happened but to be honest he didn't feel like telling the story it bothered him. Bothered him a lot.
