Where the darkness hides

Flameshadow was on personal business because she had heard about something sinister going on in a certain area within in the city . She heard that people mostly mutants were being taken off the street by some strange men in black clothing and taking them somewhere on the outskirts of the city. She being an Avenger should speak to her teammates about whats going on but she decide to investigate this problem on her own unless her something dire happened that she couldn't control on her own. She got on her hover-board and flew though the city trying to figure this not really talking to anyone sighing then saying " ....what kind person would want to harm innocent children ...well i guess i shouldn't ask in a world where aliens can eat planets" she sighed it still kind of upset her that people would do such thing.



She got information from where the location from a person who she thinks knows what it was doing this and decided take the lead. She then goes that location where she was told and made sure the person was take care of by making sure they being held by the police before she took her leave towards the area which she was told about letting the police know that she will call if she needs them. it took her within hours before She was standing on the side what looks like old and abandoned warehouse. She was thinking of how she was going to get inside of the place without being detected. She felt a presence behind suddenly turned and suddenly makes flames spark into her hands getting ready to strike if whoever came behind her attacked not knowing if its friend or foe

As much as Kaine liked solo missions, he knew he should be home right about now helping Katherine take care of the kids. Well she had help, she had May Parker his neice with her so she wasn't entirely alone but it could be a stressful job. Kaine was wearing his familiar red and black Scarlet Spider suit as he swung from building to building. Apparently Fury wanted him to investigate some areas to see why mutant children were disappearing...wait a minute wasn't that a job for the X-Men? Why was he dragged into this? This only puzzled Kaine more as he tried to talk things out to himself in his head, but his lips were silent, he had been silent because he had been trying to figure out this whole thing.

Kaine landed on the abandon wear house but unknown to him he realized he wasn't alone. He saw a flash of sparks as his spidey sense went off as he quickly went into a defensive position. A smell of burnt costume could be smelt as one of the ashes landed on his suit, he had felt worse. His arm was warm because of it as he brushed the flames off, only a bit of charred hair on his wrist but he knew that fire came from somewhere. "Heay! Watch where you throw that!" Kaine said as he saw the woman he thought he saw her before. "Wait a minute don't I know you from somewhere? Aren't you from the Avengers?" He asked as he patted out his arm to make sure that there weren't any other sudden fires like that one. He couldn't exactly stop drop and roll from where he was, either.

Jamie looked towards the man in the red and black spider man costume and just checked him out.She hadn't really met the local heroes but this guy reminded her of spider-men but he wasn't quite him something different about him like he was a completely different person. She had plenty experience as an Avenger o be careful who she trusts even it is someone that is connected to spiderman in someway.

She didn't have the time to think about this while children are possibly being tortured and she slowly powered down but she kept her guard.When he spoke again and saids something about her being an Avenger she just nodded little bit" yes I am an Avenger I am Flameshadow i assume your not spiderman right who are you ?" She didn't really was watching out around her because any moment they can be caught someone can see her or him lurking around the area.She was trying to find out a way into this place herself.

In a way Kaine had thought he was a bit like Spider-Man no matter how hard he tried to dodge it. the powers were the one thing. Kaine had never been thrilled about it, even called himself a monster at one point. "No I'm not Spider-Man." He said rather dryly. Mostly because it brought back bad memories, it wasn't Jamie's fault that it had happened. But it was just like he felt as if she were comparing him to Spider-Man. Parker that was anyways.

"I am Scarlet Spider, a clone you could say to Spider-Man, I was sent here on behalf of SHIELD to check this area out. But it seems we have the same problem, we can't get in." Kaine said. As he looked around he couldn't see any visible way of getting into the wear house. No windows, no vents or anything that were easy targets for them to try and break into the place. Well if you couldn't find an entrance you could certainly make one if they had the strength of it. But he also thought of the pipes down below, surely this place had to have a sewage system that they could climb? Anything since this place looked like a fortress. "I don't suppose you know how to get into this place? That doesn't make it look so obvious. Breaking down their door isn't going to help." Kaine said as he rested on the railing in a squatting like position like how Spider-Man might do the same.

When he had metioned SHIELD she kind of frowned little bit she was there when Shield had did something to the Avengers and kind of tempered their relationship with them. She didn't want to reject his offer to help her since she didn't have any other choice and why not. She didn't actually have plan on how they are going to get inside and she looked around and spotted a vent system on the side of the building that they can maybe fit inside.

She was convicted on what do right not for now she was going to trust him and she just nodded little bit she doesn't say anything to do him and walked around the building. She just looked upward and then back towards him " Scarlet spider there is ventilation shaft maybe you can help me get that open and we can get inside .She didn't want to use her hoverboard or powers since both of them needed to get inside although she could just go and open a door or he could.

"You can also call me Kaine everyone else does." Scarlet Spider said knowing he might be risking something giving his first name, but he knew that this woman was famous as well, especially since she was married to Tony Stark. "Well then, we better start getting to it." But regardless of their background and being a part of SHIELD Kaine knew there were more important things at stake. Arguing about what factions they were on were the least of their problems. He saw the ventilation shafts that Jamie had been pointing too, and in his crouched position he jumped up onto the wall nearby finding it easy to climb but he also remembered this building might be fragile and could break with the wrong move.

He used his strength to open up the shaft with some ease as he went in side finding it horribly dusty as it coated his suit. He grumbled under his breath about it and complained but down below through one that was on the bottom he could see a room that looked suspicious he carefully opened the vent knowing it had to lead to one of the main rooms. He also wondered if Jamie was following him or not. "You coming? I found a room that is empty looks like everyone went home." Kaine said surprised that his spidey sense hadn't gone off yet.

Jamie was not a climber she has was having trouble getting up there as she tried to get through the vent as he didn't help her up there and slides quietly into the room. She knew that they have to work together on this and she nodded little bit as he told to call him Kaine " ok it seems quiet little too quiet " She said as she looked around the place because it was eerily quiet there seems to be no one there

The place was pretty big inside for being such a small building it as if something was actually going on here.They were in metal hallway and the air was cold and damp inside the rooms there were dog cages and they had people inside of them looked like mostly kids and a few adults.Jamie doesn't seem to notice this quite yet since she was walking ahead of him going towards big doorway.

Kaine agreed with Jamie it was a little bit too quiet and he didn't like it one bit. It bothered him. So far though his spidey sense hadn't gone off. Regardless, he knew that there was something that was going on that he didn't like. He and Jamie had to be cautious about their next few moves. They were not only putting themselves in danger but as well as the innocent civilians. As they got closer in the building that was when Kaine saw the people being tied up in the cages. That really bothered him. Since he too had been caged at one point treated like trash. It bothered him.

"We're close but something doesn't seem right." Kaine said as he realized it. His eyes narrowed as he waited for Jamie to move or if he had to decide it for him. That was when he felt his spidey sense go off, there was no way he could miss that annoying twinge in the back of his mind. "Spidey sense, duck!" He called out as he got down from underneath one of the boxes that were being stored there for other items. There it was a bullet zipped passed his head as some armed men were no doubt hiding in the shadows and they had been spotted. But he knew one bullet wasn't going to do it. He heard several more go over head as Kaine put out some webbing and chucked it like a baseball towards the gunmen as he stopped one of the guns and clogged it with his webbing. That was one down they had probably a couple more to go. They couldn't get closer with all the gunfire unless they had some other way of getting around them. "I really hate this. I know what it's like to be trapped like an animal." Kaine said knowing Jamie probably could hear him.

Jamie suddenly ducked behind a pillar and sweared " fuck" under her breath she didn't plan on getting caught at least this soon .She then decide do a team attack since there was another guy and aimed a small stream of flames at the man to knock them over.She has been through alot as well and was kind of angry to see all those people in those small cages she was locked up in cell when she was young as well.

She then nodded little bit towards Kaine he said he hated this she agreed with him no one should ever feel this kind of pain. " Yeah i agree with these are horrible people "She knew if more come there would be trouble just cringes because she didn't know how long this has been going on. She then looked through the papers they were talking about doing test on chemicals on these people and a lot of them experiment details were pretty graphic to the point where it would be censored if it was on normal Tv.

"Yes they are." Kaine said as he watched the remaining men fire the bullets. His spidey sense had gone off right on time of course from it. Kaine felt his heart racing from the bit of adrenaline that was running through his body, it was enough that he needed as he got his stingers out, they came out from the familiar place on his wrists. He then charged at the nearest man and managed to slice his shoulder into pieces as he cried out into pain. If it was true on one thing, Kaine was no stranger to pain like that, though he had tried to turn his life around. Only if SHIELD allowed it...

There was a pause in the gun fire as he went over to one of the nearby cages as he tried to pull the bars open. It was tough he felt his muscles strain as he gritted his teeth trying to open it. The humans stood in fear as they tried to help him but it wouldn't budge. As Kaine stood there he felt a stray bullet hit his shoulder. "OW! Those filthy humans." He said as he felt blood drip from his arm but he knew the bullet would be taken care of soon once his healing factor started to work, enough damage would certainly set it off. Finally after a bit more grunting and pulling the bars gave way as the humans were able to get out. That was the start of it, Kaine knew his line of anti hero work was probably just starting. "That's one down a bunch more to go." He said knowing Jamie probably heard him.
