Another Day in the City (Bobby)

[Sam Alexander]

It had been awhile since Sam had been in New York City as a civilian or just on his own. That was when he was with Anya. It was different seeing things without his Nova Helmet and flying above the city. But really he mostly came down here to get away from the Hellicarrier life a bit and see what the city was doing. Usually he was fighting as a super hero but it was nice just to relax too. He found himself eating at a fast food restaurant with a sand which in hand as he finished he put the trash away and took his backpack and hover board with him. He wished Miguel or Brandi could've been with him but it was clear some times their schedules didn't always match up and friends had to be apart for some of the time.

As he began to leave the restaurant the familiar sights and sounds came into view as the large buildings and city came in as he climbed onto his hover board. "Heay watch where you're going!" One adult said as Sam flew a little close to them but he was used to these things by now. "Please I was ten feet from you you're just touchy." Sam said having been used to the New York Crowd by now and quickly dismissed it. He wasn't hurt or anything as far as he was concerned it was just another annoyed New Yorker. So far today seemed rather peacefully as he saw that Avengers Tower loomed in the distance. He knew that SHIELD may not be welcomed there so easily so maybe it was best to stay away from that area, but compared to most heroes he was still a kid to some of them like Ironman or Captain America. So with that he got off of his hover bike to watch Avengers Tower from afar.

Bobby was on the rooftop of building staring over the city he was on his first patrol of the city and nothing interesting has happened just yet. He knew that he had to try match up to his father . He didn't really like being in his shadow but with everything happening at once he had learned a lot of things from him but he wanted to do be his own hero one day. He like his dad his identity wasn't exactly secret he didn't quite have a code name for himself just yet.

He should be glad it was a boring that means that he will get to have some fun he brings down his visor and sits down and takes out a can of the latest energy drink. The drink in his hands had chunks of fruit it was raspberry and mango and he takes a sip. He was not sure what he could do now he wasn't paying attention to what was coming towards him.

Sam was on the hover skateboard for awhile as he flew,  he knew landing like that might make a mistake on his end. But he felt the hover board shift a bit as he realized he was falling from it. "Woah hang on!" Sam said as he felt his body slip off as he jumped towards the ground and took a bad tumble hitting his wrist. "Ooff that wasn't my best of landings on that even for me." Sam said knowing he had several bad landings with his Nova Helmet so this was something new. As he landed on the building he thought he saw someone nearby on the tower. He knew there might be people here, but as he tried to get up he felt bruised and his right arm hurt from where he hit the ground as he tried to stand but it wasn't easy.

Great now he probably looked like a fool in front of someone he didn't even know. As far as he knew this could probably be really embarrassing. "I'm sorry if I scared you or anything...I was just trying to see how high I could go with my hover board....in fact where did it go?" Sam asked realizing his hover board was gone, that was ok he'd have to go find it soon before Fury got mad and found out. What Sam hadn't realized just yet was the person who he had seen was Bobby Stark one of the adopted sons of Tony and Jamie.

Bobby Stark had suddenly looked up towards the man raised brow and walked up towards him laughed little bit he didn't even got startled at all. He had see people wreak hoverboards he saw the hoverboard on the lenge and bends over to gets it for him " No of course not "he didn't care about the rivalry between Shield and the Avenger or did he know about him being Nova.

he just looked towards him " you should be more careful you know sir those hoverboards can be tricky you know " he was sure glad he didn't did have to save this but regardless he would have done it aways. He was trying to be friendly to him he knew this guy was older then he was and didn't want to seem like he was condescending to him. He was not going to make fun of of the guy because it wouldn't been the right thing to do even he could.

"Yeah I don't have the best of luck with hover boards I should just stay away from it." Sam admitted knowing that it was ironic since he could fly with his Nova Helmet. He looked up seeing Bobby for a bit realizing he was young like maybe in his teens? That didn't seem that bad Sam was even at that age at one point. Once he brushed his shirt and pants off from any dirt or dust he had collected he thought it was best to introduce himself as a civillian before hand he saw no reason for him to mention being a Nova just yet unless it was serious.

"My name is Sam Alexander, by the way, I was just in the area to get away from work for a bit, you know not playing hookie or anything. Because I think the boss would kill me if I didn't." Sam said referring to Nick Fury at that point. Surely his eyes would be bulging out past his eye patch but it was almost a little bit amusing as he thought about it. Though he had gotten past the part of cleaning toilets for awhile now which was good on his record. "So what's your name kid? Don't I get one in return? And sorry about earlier for almost flying into you like that I am not the best at landing those things." Sam admitted as he apologized.

Bobby just nodded little and since he has no codename he decided to tell the man his real name as well since he didn't seem all that bad of a guy " its alright and nice to meet Sam my name is Bobby Stark "He laughed at the thought of playing hooky at work and just grinned little bit towards him.The fact was he didn't expect an adult to actually say jokes like this since most of the people are pretty serious most of the time. He thought at time hat he can maybe try to make friends with his fellow teen on the team James but he rarely gets the chance to talk to him because he is usually busy with something.

He actually even at time takes some time to be with his brother and best friend Alaric whom he shares a really close bond with which can never be broken. Bobby himself actually does a lot of training as well with his father Tony Stark even though he has allowed him in the field he still isn't allowed to do any of the bigger missions since he was been told he is not quite ready this kind of annoyed him to no end. The kid was actually stubborn and wants to show his dad he was able to do things that would make him proud but he lacks what is called experience with the bigger villais

"It's nice to meet you, Bobby. say from the sounds of it are you related to Tony Stark? he's got a similar last name." Sam said pointing out the obvious towards that one with the last name. Sam didn't have much in his family tree towards descendants. But as far as he knew, his father was from a distant planet named Xandar and his mother was full human so that made himself and his sister being half xandrian and half human. As Sam looked over the kid, it reminded him of when he was younger and a bit of a mischevious fellow, that was when his phone rang as some SHIELD reports came in as he looked over his phone which surprised him.

"Uh oh that can't be good my phone is lighting up with all kinds of news on a robbery going on a few blocks away from here...I uh better go." Sam said knowing he might have to say good bye to Bobby at this point. That is if Bobby was interested enough on coming to the robbery too to try and get a piece of action. Sam had his helmet in his backpack which was easy enough to stumble into a nearby alley way and change. But Sam tried to keep it as if he was leaving for another reason but he couldn't come up with an excuse really. Would he have to eventually tell Bobby that he was apart of SHIELD? Probably not right now but he hoped this didn't put a damper on his relationship, that was just starting to come. That was when Sam heard a loud gunshot in the area that was almost ear piercing perhaps this robbery was closer than they thought as some police could be seen driving down the highway as they tried to arrive to the area where the bank was, apparently this was serious.

Bobby just nodded to Sam " see you later Sam " When Sam had left to go the robbery suddenly placed down his faceplate on his helmet when he got the alert about the robbery as well he thought this would be a good time to show what he was made of.He wanted to be friends with the slightly older man and unlike his father didn't have a problem with SHIELD since he knew very little about their past with them.Bobby had respect for almost all heroes unless they do something that is not right or doesn't act hero like.

He isn't the one to judge anyone because he even pasted up a few girls on his way towards the placed because his duty right now was more important right now. He was also flying towards the bank hoping that he would get there on time. He knew these similations were pretty serious people could get hurt or worst die by the hands of person.

Sam managed to dodge behind some civilians as they walked passed him unknown to what was going to happen next to the young man. He went into an alley way where he grabbed his backpack and opened it. There in side it was his black Nova helmet that Brandi and Miguel probably knew so well. Sam had been an accomplished Nova by now but once again he would have to use it to try and save and help others. Carefully he put it on as he felt the Nova force flow through him and his uniform came on moments later. "Alright let's go." Sam said as he flew towards the area where the robbery was taking place. Little did he know someone else was going to be there too.

Sam flew down near the pavement not far from the bank that was being robbed as gunfire was being exchanged between police and the humans. In fact Sam saw one bullet come flying towards one officer as he grabbed him by the shoulders and picked him up as a bullet just missed them. "Heay watch it-Oh." The officer then realized Sam was on their side as the Nova put him back on the ground. He also saw someone other robot like Ironman suit was coming towards him, though Sam had no idea that it was Bobby. "Looks like we're not alone in help. Heay you want to give me a hand? We need to get any civilians out." Sam asked towards the man in the suit as he was going to rush in to save any civilians even at the sight of gunfire.

Bobby realized that the guy didn't know who and smiled under his helmet he was glad for that for the fact. He was also happy Sam didn't call him Mr. Stark and he responded " ok then Nova ...." He had heard of this hero of course to the point where he knew him by name.He tried to figure out what do because he was such a green hero and he decided to say a little girl in trouble and quickly ran in to grabbed her quickly and turned dodged a bullet and as he tried to get away from the gun fire.

He looked towards the more experienced hero he was unsure what do at moment but he knew that no plan to take down these men. He decided asked him a question " what is the place to take down these guys " He was admitting he didn't actually have much training in this kind of thing. He was just on his first week of being hero and he doesn't know how to be one just yet.

It didn't take long for Sam to figure out that Bobby was new at the super hero business. In fact Sam had once been in his shoes several years back, every one had to start somewhere and the Avengers were no different here. The villains were nearby as they were wearing masks to cover their identities, just as Sam's helmet covered his own and his black centauriun costume covered his body. "we need to round up the bad guys I don't know how many of them." Sam pointed out seeing that they needed a game plan here. Perhaps this was a start, and he also wondered if they needed to call back up, so far things looked like they were fine. He might have to call Miguel or some other SHIELD agents in to help them out if it got worse.

Sam watched as Bobby saved a little girl who was caught in the cross fire, that was a relief as he saw Bobby's reaction was fine. That was when a barrage of bullets came their way as he put up a Nova shield to try and stop them from coming. "Kid, you better look out for the bullets!" He called out starting to wonder if they really should call for help. Two heroes might not be enough to stop them.
