Ryuka "DragonKnight" Kyoshi
PERSONALITY Ryuka may look like a 'punky' wild child of a preteen but she has a big heart. Usually being known for helping shorter kids getting library books or walking em home if they fear a bully living on their street. She tries not to be 'combative' but sometimes she slips and ends up in trouble with her school. When she forgets to avoid fights on school property anyway, otherwise bullies leave her and anyone she's with well enough alone. When not protecting younger kids from bullies she can be found playing videogames with some of them if not at home. Joyfully laughing with her younger friends when they show her the new 'pocket monster' they caught or beat another gym thanks to her advice. The few times Ryuka is seen alone she's usually reading something like a manga or fantasy novel. As reading is another passion of hers. Besides the urge to help those younger than her feel safe. When not getting in trouble for pounding a bully she's a smart kid at her school work for the most part. She really hates math and science though, usually referring to her science teacher as a 'wanna be Snape' under her breath. Or 'umbridge incarnate' for her math teacher. She'd be fibbing if these nicknames hadn't gotten her in hot water a time or two either. HISTORY Predictably Ryuka doesn't remember much of being a baby in her family, aside from feeling loved. As she grew up they moved a few times; often preceeded by a visit from some men and women in suits that didn't look like sales people. She didn't really start asking about the people till she was about 10 years old. But her parents just told her she'd understand when she got older. Unlike how some kids react poorly to having their life uprooted alot, by this time Ryuka had gotten used to it. She and the friends she physically left behind were still connected via the internet, or in some cases her poke'mon games and her system's wifi connection. Or sharing videos on the web from her favorite youtube letsplayers; usually if something she found funny had occurred. As she grew she had no idea her parents weren't what most would consider 'normal'. Or that she wasn't either for that matter, but life would rectify that sometime soon. Starting with odd dreams where her parents loving faces turned from human...to dragonlike?. When she would tell her parents these odd dreams they would calm her by reassuring her she was safe, her imagination was just taking a flight of fancy at night. Though they never did admit to why they looked like something hurt them each time they said this. Around the same time she hit the age of thirteen, and her family was living on beachfront property not only were the 'dreams' getting more vivid. But she was sleepwalking at night, either waking up on her own when she was waist deep in the calm ebb and flow of the ocean waves. Or waking when her parents realized she had somehow left the house and followed her somehow. Once more they never really explained how they found her so fast; let alone why she woke to a faint 'whoosh' sound right before she heard them call her name. Fate would finally force her parents hand due to an incident when they were getting pizza to celebrate her acing a test. Her parents leaving their preteen child home safe, least that was their thought. Instead they came home to the neighbors having called the police; because not only had a robber broken into their home, but their daughter had somehow incapacitated him. when she was hardly strong enough to swing anything heavier than a baseball bat. Plus it had sorely confused the police as to why the creep was soaked. Let alone why hischest was badly bruised and the shirt was ripped open in a circle like one might expect of a close range shot from a fire hose. The officer's wanted to ask Ryuka how she did whatever she'd done to save herself but she was freaked out, hiding in her closet. Only speaking to say she didn't want to talk about it with the police. It took the same 'nice suited people' to get the cops to back off with their oddly opportunistic arrival. Between them and her parents she finally admitted she didn't remember much beyond wanting to make the bad man not move toward her. Followed by a weird sensation in her chest before she nearly blacked out after the water just 'appeared'. This incident resulted in them moving from the beachfront to an area in Nyc. Luckily her neighbor friends hadn't seen her do the odd attack, they had run back home scared it had been a water main breaking because of something the bad man had done. Finally however, Ryuka learned the truth, she and her parents were 'mutants'. Who weren't monsters like some people thought but just a different sort of human. They wouldn't learn till their little girl hit 14 that 'water spouting' wasn't her only talent. Unfortunately it happened while their daughter was walking home from school. This time scaring the whey out of not only her classmate but the school bully who tried heckling the pair. After all its not exactly normal for a girl yelling at you to go away to become a windsock of a dragon and fly off with the spectacularly freaked out friend of theirs a bully was just tormenting. Powers Dragon form shift: can become a lanky, oriental style dragon with blue/white fur and black 'socks' on all four short legs as well as the tip of her long whippy tail. Her eyes are a sort of purple/black color in this form. After she initially turned into this form at the age of 14 under duress she will have to learn how to hide the long tail she retains even in 'human' mode same as her parents. Thankfully her ears are only foxlike in dragon form and she lacks her nubby horns in human mode. Dragonform weakness: if hit with enough 'Pixie dust' or outright magic she can be painfully forced to revert to human form. Only too weakened to try and shift again for roughly a day. Water manip: right now she's learning to control this the way they show the ability in her favorite anime, Pokemon. She can only rarely pull off the 'hydro pump' fear triggered before. Her attacks of this sort more closely mimic the water based attacks she's familiar with in the fictional 'Pokemon universe' as a result. So its likely a very good thing she can't do much more than what amounts to 'Raindance' 'Aqua Tail' or 'Water Gun' right now. Weaknesses of Water manip: The more often she uses these abilities without rest the likelier she suffers dehydration. Or risks getting seriously hurt if her shenanigans unsettle the weather pattern enough to trigger something more violent than a mere drizzle. Because she is actually very sensitive to being hit with lightning. Wind manip: for now allows her flight capability but she is also working to expand her repertoire of talents. Which will include attack talents such as 'Twister' using her body to whip up a vicious little tornado that picks up any available detritus to attempt to knock a rival silly. Weakness of Wind Manip: Using this ability to fly doesn't tire her out half as fast as it does for attacking with it. Also runs the risk of damaging others outside the fight if her wind attacks were to be struck with a fire attack from an enemy. If not having her control of it taken from her by a stronger user of the wind with less than good intentions. 'Dragon energy' attacks: these are beyond her at the present, but she will eventually learn them as she ages. Examples of the energy attacks she can attain include things referred to as 'Dragons breath' in her case it works more like a super concentrated burst of super-heated steam than 'spectral fire'. Other examples include the more physical 'Dragons tail' maneuver that imbues that same super heated steam attack into her tail to bludgeon and flash cook whatever part of something she hit that had gotten close enough. Weakness of the Dragon Energy: By far out of all her abilities this will be the most taxing on her psyche and body. Psyche in regards to the fact that if she fights for too long using these attacks she risks being put into a 'Rage' state that could cause her to become a liability in a fight. Leaving her little more than a feral creature till she either passes out from exaustion or her third weakness; outright magic was used on her by either friend or foe. Particularly 'Pixies' 'Fairy Magic' or any powerful sorceror's magic. Being hit with Magic also has a chance of forcing her out of her dragonform. Password here:Cosmos |
