DAVID PALMER (IRON BLADE)
PERSONALITY David's hard life has lead to him becoming a tough, brazened individual. Hardly the type to spend his life moping around, David has instead dedicated his life to being a good person. Coming off as a bit of a "tough guy", in all reality he's usually a soft "teddy bear" when you get to know him. Only showing his tougher nature to those who decide to either: A) get on his bad side, B) caught him while using his "Iron Blade" persona, or C) caught him vulnerable. And if there's one thing that David hates, it's being vulnerable. Having been raised by abusive parents, he's learned to hide his emotions well. Rather than try to open up like most people, he tends to bottle them up until they ultimately end up exploding out - and they always do. He finds it easier, living on his own, to hide them, but there's always inevitably something or someone that triggers him in a way that he can't avoid it any longer. Most important to note is that behind all this, David is a genius, as are most who wear the armor. Defined as "gifted" from a young age, David is always tinkering with something. He has a widely developed mechanics prowess, as well as an affinity for other for other forms of math and science. But mechanics is truly where he excels, proving to have the ability at a young age to at the very least attempt to copy his father's works. That said, all of this hides a deeper loneliness. Raised by the parents he was raised by, he has far from had good "role models" or any kind of family figure in his life. Typically a lone wolf these days, his deep desire from companionship is made harder by his difficulty to trust others. But if he can make connections, it's typical that this leads to David having a deep loyalty for those he is connected to. Once you've befriended David, he's a friend for life. HISTORY David's early life was probably the hardest part of his young existence. Born to a father serving time in prison for being one of Iron Man's many unnamed background villains, and a drug addict mother, he never had a "normal" childhood. His life was a revolving door of his mother's disgusting, often abusive boyfriends, and long nights wondering where his next meal would come from. When he was about five years old, his father was released from prison and things became worse from there. His father, as a contrast to his mother's drug addicted nature, was a bitter and cold individual. David's abuse became worse from this moment on, until finally, one day, when he was ten, he had enough of it. Taking some of his father's plans for a "new armor" to challenge Iron Man once again, David escaped his home in the night and has never looked back. David spent the next five years evading both his parents and social services. Meanwhile, he has worked, in secret, on a project he hopes that will, inevitably, help him finally do some good in the world. It is taken many years, and some dealings on the black market, but David is very close to finishing his own, "bootleg" Iron Man armor in order to begin a war against crime and people like his father. In the meantime, David has been watching the slow evolution of the superhero world as a whole. Watching as the heroes he once looked up to have made way for their own children to enter the battle. As a result, David often wonders his own place in all of this, and if he even has a chance of making a name for himself without sending red flags up for people. But none-the-less, he is determined to begin a crusade of his own, come hell or high-water. After all, even the greatest of heroes had to start somewhere. And only time will tell when and if David can make a legend out of himself as "Iron Blade". Powers His powers mostly come from his own armor, known by him as the "Iron Blade Armor". On the outside, the Iron Blade armor appears as a lower tech version of your typical Iron Man armor. Though David has yet to integrate such things as his own AI or flight capability he has made up for both with the addition of several of his own upgrades to it. IRON BLADE ARMOR ATRRIBUTES TWIN BLADES: Rather than go for just the typical blasters in the hand, David has built in twin blades inside the arms. Giving him his given name of "Iron Blade". Both are very simple blades but at the same time are deadly when used the right way. MINI GUN TURRETTS: Not unlike War Machine, David has made up for his "blasters" with instead using mini guns hidden in the armors wrists. The only problem with these is that he needs time to auto-reload them with actual bullets. And as such they come off as more of a last resort if he is backed into a position he has no choice. TOOL/UTILITY BELT: Taking a cue from Batman on this one. As a result of his low-tech armor, David can't always rely on his weapons or suit. As a result, he carries with him makeshift weapons on a built-in ulility belt. Items Found in His Utility Belt: 1. Taser: Exactly what it sounds like. For the person he just can't bring down, he has a taser handy to knock them out cold when they least expect it. 2. Smoke Bombs: For a quick escape when necessary. 3. Tools: Of course, these are used for last minute repairs to his suit when necessary. 4. Ammunition: Of course, for his built in guns since he needs to manually reload them. 5. Secondary Gun: In case he's really in a jam. David always has a back-up to get himself out of a bad situation. Password here: Cosmos |
