Kaine had been sleeping soundly that night after doing several hours of the last bit in correcting papers that the students had sent in for their final exams before being off. He had a couple of days off and was glad to see that they were finally done. He slept and shared the same room with katherine since they were pretty much married now. At one point he found himself waking up in the middle of the night not able to sleep anymore as he sighed wondering why he kept waking up like this. "Well not getting any sleep isn't going to help me." He said with a sigh as he got up being careful and put on a warm jacket in case he was going to go out side, but it was unlikely.
Instead he went into the main room to get a hot cup of hot chocolate as he put it in the microwave, two minutes passed before he took it out and sat on the couch watching some tv. Although there was still the concern that he couldn't see out of his left eye all that well still. He wondered if he could get some form of medical treatment on it to make the scars not look so bad on it, or even get some of his vision back, but that was a talk he wanted with Katherine.
On one empty part of the apartment there was a tree that they had found earlier that week as they put it up and started to put on some decorations. It had been a long time since Kaine had really celebrated Christmas but he thought it was better that the kids did it instead for them so they'd get to experience Christmas in a much better light. He took out his phone as he decided maybe it was best to text Katherine in case she wondered where she was in the house, "I'm out in the lounge couldn't sleep if you're looking for me." he admitted as he took up the couch but that would change if Katherine came in and wanted to see him. It was nice being Kaine for a change and he got a break from being Scarlet Spider, but he just wondered how long this short peace would last?
