Switched Bodies, Switched Powers (Obaara)

[Kaine Riley-Parker]

Scarlet Spider last remembered falling asleep in his apartment that he had gotten recently since they moved into a larger one with his two kids Kaiden and Kade they would have a bit more freedom. Katherine his fiancee was living with him there since she wanted to be close with the family. That night he had some horribly odd dreams of spiders, to demons to other monsters. It felt like a wave of nightmares hit him at first. And finally he woke up finding himself breathing heavily. But as he woke up and waited for his vision to come back something was indeed not right at all here. His right eye which usually had bad vision in it was working again, was this some kind of miracle that had happened?

But as he looked around nothing was familiar with him, the bed he slept in was different, even had a different smell. "What's going on here?" He asked himself. As he started to get up he felt himself making a bit of an odd noise. There were large clip clops of hooves and that was when he realized something was horribly wrong here as he was the shape of a horse and a horse lower body. What was going on here? His mind was starting to panic as he went over to one of the windows seeing the sudden transformation.

"What happened!" He asked as he thought of the recent events that had happened the last week or so. He had run into the horse centaur a few days ago, what was her name? Obaara? That was right it was all starting to come back. He wasn't honestly sure what had happened, nor did he want to stay like this forever. They had some how switched minds and this wasn't the first time that had happened.

If anything, Obaara was probably in his body now somewhere in New York, back at his apartment anyways. Kaine took out Obaara's phone as he began to dial his own phone number hoping it'd pick up. "Come on Obaara wake up! We have some serious talking to do. Pick up the phone!" He said in frustration, as his familiar grumpy and gruff personality came. Scarlet would be damned if someone tried to be Scarlet Spider again and cause something bad to happen if she went and used his spidey powers for the wrong idea. His horse tail swished and twitched, a lot of this was new and he couldn't even walk without falling and hurting himself, Obaara was better than this than she was.

Obaara was in her large Room in the X-Mansion. She has been given permission by the Professor to be allowed to learn magic magics in her room. She had several very old books being centuries old, written in old English, and Demonic, that where scattered on the floor and her table that was made for her needs and height, habing extra long legs. 
She had no bed, rather had a very thick and soft blanket on the floor, as she usually slept while standing or in a kneeling position or laying on the blanket. 
Late into the night, after hours of reading and studying, she was really tired, but was unsure about a few of the spells and charms that she started practicing. She finally gave into the mental and body fatige and fell asleep. 
She was awoke by a ringing... her phone. She reached out and felt around, to find it.
After a few seconds, she found the phone and while still half sleeping and having her eyes still shut, answered the phone in her native Demonic, not really eager on waking up. She did not realize that she spoke Demonic, it was just so natural for her. After a long second, she finally started to thing in English. "Hello? " she muttered into the phone, still half sleeping. She did not really care who it was, she was still sleepy and wanted more sleep. She however decided to wait at least a few seconds to see who it was.

Kaine wasn't sure if this was some kind of joke or whatever was going on, but he knew the only person who had magical abilities and was a horse was Obaara she was somewhere else in the X-Mansion while he appeared to be in his apartment which was indeed several miles away at this point. Luckily he was the only one there since Katherine was at work and his niece May Parker had gone with the kids early. So he was alone at this point. Finally the ringing stopped as another voice came on the other end of it. There was a bit of relief in his voice as he was glad the phone was picked up.

"Obaara I don't know what kind of game this is but I remember last you used magic when I saw you. Some how you turned me into your horse body. Which means you probably have my body. I won't be at all thrilled if you go running around as Scarlet Spider." Kaine said almost in an annoyed rant. He thought he heard her say something in demonic langauge but to him it didn't make much sense. Kaine only really knew english for the most part of things.

As he thought about it it would perhaps benefit the both of them. Kaine would understand why Obaara hated being half horse and she could at least be a sort of normal human for awhile. That is if she could handle being Scarlet Spider for a bit. She had all of his powers. His stingers, wall crawling, healing factor, spidey sense and everything else that went into it as Scarlet Spider. But luckily she didn't have to deal with the bitterness that he had carried with him from a young age, he hated even that.

"I'll tell you what instead of getting mad over the phone we need to meet up somewhere so you can fix this. I kind of need my body back. I don't even know if we can handle the opposite's life. If you're me you'd have to go into SHIELD teacher and the Web Warriors." He explained knowing SHIELD would not enjoy this either.

She grunted in annoyance when a annoyed and gruff sounding female person spoke. She then became far more awake when it hit her... she was hearing her own voice! What the heck?!

She opened her eyes and after finding that her left eyes was closed... she tried to blink it open, only to find that that that did not work... what happened to her left eye? who the demon was that on the phone? "Huh? whaat? what happened? When she head the female rant off about changing her into her centaur form... Obaara knew that something was not right. She glanced at her hands to see that there was no flaming at all. She grew totally awake and slowly looked over her body.

She grew wide eyed in great surprise, as she saw that her lower body was human looking... she did not have the lower body of a horse! She let out a yell of surprise at this ralisation. Her body was now a male body and she could not help running her free hand along a few parts of her new body to see if this was real of just a hopeful dream. It was real, luckily! The body was a male, and very muscular and toned body. She wanted to ask who the other person actually was but soon enught... she got the answer. "Scarlet??... i... i ... hey!... it is not my fault okay? i am just in the process of learning basic magic!... i was brain tired, so a spell probably was misinterpreted or something! " She also said angrily.

Really?!... was it such a ultra terrible crime that she was still having trouble with even basic magic... she was not Dr. Strange! She however, listened to as it turned out... Scarlet and soon nooded, but was pretty embarresed about the magical mess up. 
As she listened... she grew pretty intimidated. "Umm... well, i will try my best to try to fix it... where would you want to meet? Are you still at the Mansion?  " She asked in an uncertain voice.

Maybe Scarlet had been a bit harsh on her at first, he was angry yes but perhaps he was taking it the wrong way. And maybe they'd be able to fix it, he hoped that was the case anyways. He sighed, "Alright I'm sorry I guess it was just as big as a surprise as it was for you to me too." He admitted. Kaine wasn't much for being the kind type but he knew Obaara was far younger than he was and she was still learning. "And in case you're wondering i"m blind in one eye. I lost my vision during a fight with...someone one of Spider-Man's usual enemies named Venom." Scarlet said. But mentioning Venom wasn't the main problem right now. He knew that they had to do something than stand idally around here.

"I'm at my apartment in New York, there's a park not far from here that's a lot smaller than Central Park. It's early in the morning so I doubt we'll be seen by anyone who comes and visits it. We can go there and meet up, you can find it on a map. It's called "Lincoln Park. I go there a bit often." Kaine explained "And if you do get any idea of running around as Scarlet Spider, I'm bringing the suit." Kaine added as he sighed. He began to start moving things around and walking with his horse body. He had to take a couple of slow steps to get used to it at first. And he knew it was going to be awhile. He grabbed his red and black suit that fit his own body more than Obaara's into a back pack that he carried around on occasions.

Once he was done he was starting to leave the apartment hoping that no one would see him knowing things would not end well for him. But at least he was starting to understand how Obaara felt with being ashamed of everything that happened with her. People were not used to that type of thing with the horse body, not many had even a centaur before, and some thought they were mythical creatures.

"I'm heading towards the park now, Obaara I suggest you get a move on yourself." he added. Kaine wasn't too interested about bringing up what type of powers where with his body but he knew that Obaara would figure them out eventually like hos spidey sense if she ran into trouble or even his stingers, they were forced out, with, some thought on it but the first few tries of bringing them out into a fight they hurt and itched a bit on the skin. "And don't even think about using my powers." He said with a warning tone, hoping that she would listen as he still had his phone on. He wanted to make sure that she was actually coming.

Obaara was really impressed with how his new, but temporary body was build... nearly like a tank. She however was still confused and a little upset. Why can she not stay in such a body... even a male body was much better then being a centaur. But she knew, and sort of accepted the fast that she was how she was... she just would not be able to change how she currently looked... not matter how hard she tried or what she did.
She would age, live, grow very old and die, being a winged centaur girl.
She listned to Scarlet as he told her about his eye problem. "Venom? the person even sounds gross. " She said tryin to ligtened his mood, a little bit.
"Lincoln Park? i think i have been there a few times, after i first arrived in America... i mean the US. " Obaara said after some thinking, and then corrected herself. She listened to him and grew a little frustrated. "Scarlet, come on... How can i control something that i do not know how they work? " She asked, as Scarlet was unfair with her, it was somewhat hurtful. 
" I will be leaving now, as well... but i have an advice for you as well, practice certain motions before you leave... sometimes my wings or legs react instinctively to... what is the word?... to certain situations. " She spoke and then after a few seconds, ended the call, got dressed and left the apartment. 

She arrived at the part some 30 mins later, because she got herself a little lost along the way, and hopefully Scarlet was not there yet. But knowing from experience that she naturally walked faster then other people, that Scarlet would get there before her.

"You have no idea how right you are." Kaine said knowing that Venom himself was a large nasty symbiote who took control of others. his main go was no surprise on that one was to get Spider-Man. He listened to Obaara as he was glad to see that she was familiar with the park, he and his sons had gone there a couple of times, with his fiancee werecat so they could at least have a bit of family time to themselves.

"Alright I'll work on the moves, I've been trying to be careful at the apartment." Kaine said and it wasn't long before they hung up. As he was out side in the streets he mostly took alleyways. It was weird not only being in a female body but also a centaur body as well. Walking was a bit different, he lost count of how many times he almost stumbled and got frustrated with himself. But it wasn't long before he saw the gates of the park there and he spotted his own body there was some relief in his face that they had managed to get this far. He heard the familiar clip clop on the pavement of his hooves as he made through the alleyways. The fire also burned on his wrists, but he really was intrigued on it how it didn't seem to burn him at all.

"Well it looks like we both made it." Kaine said with a nod of approval towards Obaara. However before he could say anything else his phone started to ring as he realized that it was one of the Agents from SHIElD. He didn't want to pick it up right away but he knew he had no choice but too. "I have to get it, it's from the people that I work with." Kaine explained as he picked up his phone. "Scarlet Spider where are you? You avoided us yesterday by not being around, but the students can't wait any longer, they need to train for their tests by the end of the week, if you aren't here in two hours I'm going to suspend you from the Web Warriors for a month. You better get here by then." The gruff agent said as Kaine sighed. "Well this is just great." He mumbled after he hung up, he wasn't mad at Obaara this time but more mad at the agent this time, he was over the part with Obaara earlier.

"Well Obaara if you can't get a magic spell out in time it looks like you'll have to be me for a day in a training session. I know the security codes on SHIELD so you're going to have to bring me along too." Kaine said just really wondering how this was going to do that. "This should be interesting." Kaine admitted.

She listened to Scarlet... or rather... herself speak... and nodded with a somewhat intimidated smirk. "Well... i actually got a little lost on the way here... but i did to get here. " She shrugged slightly.
Sudden the phone that she had on her, started ringing, unintensionally making her jump slightly... and unintensionally do a backward summersault, landing into a crouching position. She glanced up at her natural, centaur body, and her face went into a half smile as she stood up. "I do not tower over everybody else for a change... it feels great. " She spoke as she handed over the phone to Scarlet, who was using her body now... it was still confusing to her. 
She waited in silence, during the time when Scarlet was talking... or rather... just listening the the phone and after he hung up... she grew concerned and a little worried. "Um... ummm... a totally new Spider in SHIELD... and teaching?. " She asked with some worry in his tone. She then started thinking and talking to herself.
" what is the spell?... i know i read about countering and reversing a charm, just a few days ago... but i... if i remember right... it is Annulate incantatum... or Incantatum Annulate... or nevermind... i got it. " She said and took a step backwards. " Um... if you are able... please spread your wings... some spells have stronger effects on larger objects " She said and then fell silent, to focus. She then cast the spell after a few seconds of focusing. " Finitue Rektaar Dragrir Incariss. " She spoke, needing to use a combinition of her demonic language and Latin. As she spoke the charm, her lower arms and hands began to hurt... a lot! She yelled out in pain, as a visible stream of dark energy erupted from his hands, towards Scarlet.
She however was unable to break the stream, that continued to erupt from his hands.   After a few seconds, the stream finally ended, but only a moment later the flames on her usual body all tripled in size... all the flames on her hands and around her hooves and legs. " Do not worry... this effect can happen on occation when a magically untrained body is hit by certain kinds of magics. " She said and then froze in fear... why was the situation not fixed yet?!

Kaine was sure that his spidey sense would've gone off for Obaara the sharp tingling sensation was hard to miss in a sense of danger. If it was around him or for him the sensation would've gone off. But maybe it didn't since it happened so suddenly it had no time to take it. Kaine wasn't all that amused with Obaara taking advantage of his body with doing an easy flip over it but he kept those thoughts to himself knowing they had other things to worry about.

He let out a surprised gasp as he felt the flames on his arms starting to get larger, he thought for sure that his body was going to burn. So out of instinct he got into a defensive position. He wasn't at all used to the flames that came out like this, but luckily they didn't burn him at all. As Obaara tried to fix the problem and remember the spell the wave of magic engulfed the both of them as he stood his ground in Obaara's centaur form. He felt his hooves slip a little bit but he pretty much stayed in place without wrecking the grass. Once it was over he saw that nothing had changed. "Are you saying they get triggered when there is a source of magic nearby?" Kaine asked. "Well that is different." He remarked.

"I guess it didn't work?" Kaine added seeing that she still had his body and he had hers. "If it didn't then we don't have much of a choice you're going as me to SHIELD to do the teaching. I skipped them once and I can't exactly skip them again. And for the training it's pretty simple, the students are doing obstacle courses, you have to do your best decision to grade them and see who does the best. The ones who aren't doing so great you can help tutor them and also give them advice." Kaine explained. "And I am a senior member of SHIELD so I took up a teaching job at SHIELD after joining the web warriors." He added figuring she should at least needed to know the backstory as he sighed.

"I doubt I could handle any other job being a civilian without someone asking about my scars, or trying to figure out that I have a dual identity not many know about it." Kaine admitted knowing the average citizen wouldn't know who Scarlet Spider really is. Not to mention his lack of trust towards others. He paused for a bit as he remembered something if they were going into SHIELD, Obaara would have to wear the suit even if she didn't like it. "Which reminds me, put on the suit." Kaine said as he opened up the backpack as he opened it revealing the red and black costume. In a way it was similarly styled to Spider-Man's of course Kaine's had his own twist to it.

She was confused when she found out that her memories and soul... where still in  the different body of Scarlet. Obaara frowned as she spoke. "No, that is not possible, it needed to work... this was the spell that was to be used. " She said and all of a sudden realized that, because she was in another body of a person that was born in the States, now, she did not have her slight English accent. It was strange, but she was also happy about it. 

She then shook her head. "No... they get triggered on rare occations... my flames react violently to certain kinds of spells, so they grow. It is caused by a rarer form of magic... but it rare that it happens." 
She listened to what Scarlet usually did, at this SHIELD agency and grew intimidated. "Um... i... am not good around a lot of people at once. " She admitted, looking a little scared. "But from you are telling, that is not too such hard, monitoring and evaluating the others " She said in the voice of Scarlet. And while she di not have her usual accent, her wording would possibly give her away to the other SHIELD agents.   

She then thought for a long minit and then looked up at the towering centaur... who was now actually Scarlet. "You could come to Xavier School to teach... trust me... the many students that are there, would greatly benefit from it... and so would you, Scarlet. They would not be asking questions about how you look like... trust me. I have been at the school for only a few days and i have never felt safer and more welcome in any school. " She said honestly. "As i experienced... they welcome not only mutants, but demons like me... they would welcome Spiders as well. I also think you could be a great body guard or trainer" She spike, looking over her male form with a lot of envie.

"I see now." Scarlet said as he relaxed finally as the flames died down. It was odd but it was a warning detection system like his spidey sense, well for magic anyways. "I am not a mutant, Obaara so it probably wouldn't help one bit on my end." Kaine said. "Plus I've already had my hands full with teaching and the web warriors." Kaine said feeling bad. "If anything I'd have to do a part time job there." He admitted knowing shuffling back and forth from SHIELD to his apartment to the Xavier school wouldn't be too easy on his part. But he knew he had more complicated things to explain to her. He had been genetically experimented on in a lab not to mention he was a clone to add to it. The awkwardness of being around mutants would be far too obvious.

"Don't worry, I think you'll do fine Obaara, if you don't know what to do I can give you a suggestion on the marking. You aren't going to be face to face with them, they will be in the training room as you watch from above." Kaine admitted. "You can just say I'm tagging along as a partner. They'll let you in that way." Kaine said not knowing that Obaara had been to SHIELD before hand but regardless he knew they needed to get going before SHIELD considered Kaine would be late and that'd go on his record.

"Alright I'm calling SHIELD to pick us up, they're a bit more complicated on getting to us." He said as he picked up his phone to call the SHIELD agent.

"What is it now Scarlet? Are you coming or what?" The man asked on the other end being the same shield agent that had called him moments ago. "Yes I'm coming I"m bringing a friend too." He said trying to copy his own deep voice that Obaara had now. That was when he looked back at Obaara, "We're going on the hellicarrier. I'm not sure if you've been there before but it's a giant metal flying ship." He explained hoping that SHIELD would actually come down and pick them up in the park and come there soon.

Unknown to her, after her incident with the minor demonic invasion, her memories have been slightly altered by a member of the SHIELD Psi Division, she remembered fighing the demons, but fogily remembers that she was taken care of in a vet clinic, due to her very unique body. 
As Scarlet explained what he actually did during, when he was training, Obaara grew slightly calmer. "Oh, okay... if that is what is usually happening, i will be granting the students all very high grades. " She said in the deeper male voice. " Okay... i got this, i can do this... nooooo troubles. " Obaara said to herself, but did not realize that she actually said it outloud. 

Obaara did not remember her run in with SHIELD and the Hellicarrier, so, naturally when Scarlet spoke about the Hellicarrier and such, Obaara was wide eyed. "A... metal...flying... ship? " She had a hard time imagining that, so she just sook her head and just remained silent for a few long seconds. "I am not built for metal flying ships... they must be very very big to manage to fly. " She spoke and then fell silent as Scarlet called in SHIELD to have the agency pick the dinamic duo up and take them to the SHIELD Base.

"You can't be easy on them like that, Obaara sometimes you need to give them a low grade that means there's room for improvement or things they need to work on." Kaine said as he sighed just wondering if it was a bad idea that they even went to SHIELD in the first place. But he knew with that warning message he got from the other SHIELD agent it looked like he had no choice but to go. "Look we'll just do the training sessions and hope that no one suspects a thing. The last thing we need is SHEILD breathing down our backs." Kaine said knowing some of his friends might notice something is up. The Web Warriors knew Kaine to be a bit rough around the edges but when Obaara was in his body things might be different.

"Yes that is what SHIELD has its base in a large flying ship called the hellicarrier." Kaine said knowing that not everyone liked the idea. But it wasn't long before a smaller ship arrived that was being controlled by another SHIELD agent. The door slid open allowing the two to come on. "Welcome aboard Scarlet Spider, who is your friend?" The agent asked looking a bit surprised. "I-I'm just a guest is all looking around I thought of joining SHIELD one day." Scarlet said trying to sound innocent but he heavily disliked it. "Good then you'll need a guest badge for the day. Scarlet will be your escort and I hope you two stay out of trouble." The man said shoving Scarlet a guest. He didn't seem to like being treated like a guest when he was in fact the senior member here.

For a minit, Obaara did not understand and thought that Scarlet was only joking, but when another smaller flying ship was seen in the distance, Obaara gtunted in great surprise. "That looks like it jumped out of movie or a comic book, so very very advanced " Obaara spoke, and then forced the face of her male body into a calm and normal expression, hoping to hell that they would not have there cover blown. Uncontrollably, becoming very nervous, she slowly started to sweat a little, but kept her visible cool. She looked up at Scarlet, who was in her body, and thought for a long second. Maybe joining SHIELD as a junior agent was not such a bad idea... but had no idea on how that would work, at all. She thought that the agency was very military-like with a crapload of push-ups, pull-ups and such.

The ship soon approached an even much bigger, floating massive ship, and for a long second, Obaara forgot about her body, growing pretty wide eyed. She gritted her teeth when she saw how rudely she would have been treated by the other SHIELD agent, and did not like it at all, but kept silent. 

They finally arrived at the Hellicarrier and the transport craft landed and opened up the back to allow the pair to walk outside on to the pretty windy deck. After, she felt that they where far enught from the aircraft, she spoke to Scarlet. "Okay... lead the way to the room of training... where is your SHIELD ID pass? " She gently patted the area where the pockets of pants would be located, hoping to feel some sort of card or something. She forced herself too look natural, but her eye was focused and she looked at everything that he could. She was a little annoyed that he did not have her full visual range, but not like it was the fault of Scarlet.

It wasn't long before they arrived on the hellicarrier and the ships defense systems would've been switched off since it was other SHIELD intel coming forward through the jet which was lucky for them. Obaara would get a glimpse of his life as he saw it with his own eyes, er eye at this rate. Kaine had thought of trying to get his eye fixed from the fight he had with Venom the injury had been so bad he simply hadn't had much of a dignity to go over there and ask them nor was it really a priority at the moment but he could see that Obaara might struggle with the loss of one eye. "I don't have that many pockets, usually it's right in the front. If you can't find it you state your name "Scarlet Spider" And it'll do a facial scan er mask scan in your case." Scarlet Spider explained knowing all of this was probably knew to her.

As he looked around the room in Obaara's body he noticed that a lot looked familiar to him but not Obaara. He felt Obaara's hooves clack across the floor in the metallic rhythm wishing he had his own body back but for now it seemed like it was just a waiting game to see if Obaara's magic worked. "Down this door and passed three more doors and take a right. Can you remember that?" Kaine offered knowing this area seemed like a maze at first but soon she might be able to figure it out. "You know what maybe it's just better if I lead." Kaine offered wondering if it was better that way as he took the front remembering what he said earlier hoping they wouldn't run into anyone while they were down here. "There are other web warriors but I don't know if they are here they might recognize Scarlet Spider as me which will be....odd." He admitted. "But I'll introduce them to you if we do ever run into them. That is...if you want. I know from my own experiences they are an unusual bunch." He offered if Obaara felt like she was in a mood to meet others.
