To Saturn and Back (Brandi)

"Ok even with a giant cosmic atlas at my side I still don't know where I'm going." Sam admitted as he flew through space not far from the small ship that he and brandi sort of 'borrowed from SHIELD' so they could at least have a spot to breath human air and if they did get lost they could find their way back through this. "I mean how hard is it to find a flying planet that has rings. Apparently very hard." Sam said recalling that Rider had warned him once that it was a giant maze and without co ordinates they were going no where besides blasting off. He knew SHIELD would probably had their hides for it, but Brandi was more experienced shield member here, but he had a feeling more of the blame would fall towards him since they went out in space and he was fully prepared to be dropped of the duty of being a SHIELD agent if that need be.

After flying for several hours he already looked worn from the travel as he flew back towards the ship and dove in wondering how things were doing in there, "Once SHIELD hears about this they will kill us. Or at least kill me." He said wondering if SHIELD really did have any human emotion in them besides running like an army. Since day one of Sam becoming a Nova he had been trying to find his father and they understood that was a part of the deal for Sam joining. SHIELD hadn't helped at all in trying to find his father so he took matters into his own hands.

"Helmet can you find any traces of Nova force energy?" Sam asked as he heard the AI work at hand, it sounded feminine like with an Xandrian accent. "Searching for Nova Force energy..." A couple of minutes later he found almost nothing and he sighed wondering if this had been a big waste going to Jupiter. "0% has been found." The voice said again only proving Sam's point a bit further.

"Brandi I'm sorry if I wasted your time in this, I wasted both of ours." He admitted as he put his helmet on the table to take a short break. "If we don't find anything in an hour or so, I say turn the ship around and go back to Earth." Sam said knowing Brandi might not like the idea of staying out here as much as he did. Perhaps what his father had said about being out in Jupiter was just that, a story. Though Sam couldn't help but admire the stars for a bit outside the window, there were very few lucky humans that got to go out to outer space, let alone the moon and travel there with ease. For a long time, and it still was considered that Space was the Final Frontier.

Brandi had agreed to help him with his personal mission to find his father she had promised him many times.She and Sam had decided to take one of the SHIELD spacecraft which wasn't easily done since they had to be really quiet about this.She had one of her guys get a ship for him and not tell the director about this.She had been a agent for the longest time but she didn't always followed with their rules and they knew she was stubborn and reckless to begin with.She has actually gotten in trouble times and has been told off a lot.

She just laughed when he metioned that Shield was going to have their hides when they find out they went to space speaks " Yea but they won't find out I made sure that one my guys had hidden well "She had trusted her fellow teammates on the paranormal side of Shield since they were be very secret type of team that not many know about.She has been on some really serious missions in her time and had to keep a lot of them from the lower agents including Sam which sometimes she didn't have too.She actually like having the chance to tell him about her deep adventures whenever she could.

She was sitting there in a chair after resting up after helping search the area.She knew they were in for long search because space was vast and it probably take along time before they find anyone.When Nova said he was Sorry to her about wasting her time and she just shook her head little bit and then responds with" Sam don't worry about it and look it may even take us awhile before we find anyone Space is pretty Vast and your father might be farther "She was trying to also figure and maybe Sam's Dad isn't in this universe to that matter.She was waiting for what he was planning next since she was letting him lead since this was actually up to him if he wanted to continue this.

"Well that's a big relief, I'm glad you were able to pull a few strings." Sam said with a smile on his face. Besides having no clue really where he was going, he didn't exactly do well in geometry or the other classes in highschool. So space might be no different after this. He had thought of trying to contacting the Guardians of the Galaxy but thought better of it. They weren't going to waste their time with a Nova nor did he really know who he was messing with. "How about we keep trying to go a bit further? We may have come across nothing now but I'm sure we'll come across Saturn eventually." Sam offered.

That's when an idea came to his head as he thought about the atlas when Rider had mentioned it to him. Out of the few Nova lessons that Rider had given to him he recalled him mentioning the atlas. Instead of trying to get frustrated he put on his helmet again, "Heay Brandi, maybe I can figure out where Saturn is with my atlas? I looked for it one other time...in the past." He said as he activated the large hologram projector as it showed up on the wall. It looked like they had just managed to pass a bit farther than Mercury and a few other planets from the looks of things.

"The red beacon is our spaceship from what the atlas is showing and that red planet right there is Mercury. Saturn is the blue one way out further than that." Sam pointed out with a finger showing her. "looks like we'll be on a long space road trip if you know any good songs to play to pass the time." He said half teasing and also being truthful about it too. They needed to find something to do while they let time go by before they actually reached the planet. "I am glad that you are coming along, Brandi it seems a bit less lonely if you ask me." He admitted as he gave her a smile. He was at least trying to stay optimistic in this situation.

Brandi just smiled towards him as she placed her arms behind her head just listening to him as she looked towards the map.She just smiled as he said they should go little bit farther they have been gone from earth for awhile.She wanted to be with Sam for her support and she promised that he would help him.She didn't know what to do at moment since she has only been in space a few times since she did go on very strong mission at times in both the creepy and unknown stuff.She was actually used to very long missions that send them for months or longer and this on is going pretty long since they are trying search for someone.

She then looked towards him after little quiet and after he said that he was happy that she was coming along she responds with" I am glad to do it Sam and asides I promised to help you .you are my close friend after all "She was glad to get to work with him at his element since he has been on her with her missions although he was been on the simpler ones that just involve some cleansing or helping get rid a evil force.

"Thanks Brandi I consider you a very close friend." Sam said with a smile as he looked back at her and gave her a soft smile. As the ship was on autopilot he noticed that they were getting closer to the red planet mercury. There weren't very many chances that you could get close to such a planet and you were lucky if you did. "Brandi do you want to see some of the planets as they go by? If you ask me, Mercury looks like a red earth sorta." He said admitting that the red planet looked eerily familiar but he knew there were some differences. Whoever first noticed these planets sure had thoughts and hopes that there were others out there, and they had no idea how right they were.

Sam sure did feel a bit lucky for going out in space, but it did have its draw backs like being away from his family and friends it wasn't meant for everyone. Still as he watched the planet went by his thoughts drifted to Anya for a bit and he let out a soft sigh. But he tried to shake it off, knowing he had other things to worry about besides her. Still it frustrated him. "You know when I was pretty young I thought that I didn't believe in things like ghosts or aliens and stuff like that. I think I was very naive back then." he admitted.

Brandi just continued to listen to him she was happy that he also considered her a close friend. she didn't know much about the planets but she knew they can't go on some of them. She was thinking of where she wanted actually she heard " we can go to one of uranus's moons i think i heard it might can support life " she wasn't that sure about this since he was letting her take a side trip with finding his father.She knew it is possible that they might not find anything but she wanted to keep this positive.

She continued to have her arms behind her head and slightly closed her eyes little bit.She wanted to see more but she didn't want selfless because this is suppose to be about him not her.She wanted him to be happier and having the possibility of getting his father back sounded actually great to her.She didn't know where else to actually go she was going to let him choose as well. She knew being in space was something that only a few got the chance too do and those are the ones that go though all the training want to study.

"Yeah we can go and check out the moons there, I bet they would be fun to see." Sam said with a smile agreeing with it as he gave a quick look to Brandi. He quickly asked the computer in his helmet to read the map on how far out Uranus was and it would take some time to get to Saturn and Uranus but he didn't mind waiting that much.

"Heay Brandi since we have time to kill how about we do a bit of training? Like you versus me? I think I've learned a thing or two from you with the things you've taught me about demons and such." Sam said remembering the haunted house they went through. He made sure he wasn't going to do anything like that again even if he did stand out like a glowing lantern, there with his bright blue nova force energy. "I don't know if you feel the same but I'm somewhat bored." Sam admitted before turning off his helmet. He let it run on his nova hub within the visor so he could keep track of where they were. If he didn't they might as well be lost there in space. Wasn't there a movie like that, Lost in Space? He didn't exactly want to watch it now since they were in the same situation.

She looked towards him as he asked for a spar and just stared towards kind of concern because she didn't want to hurt him.She was actually faster then him as well. She just grinned little bit she saw that he wanted to actually train with her which would actually great idea since she was also really bored as well.She just nodded little bit and smirked little bit towards him " sure lets train what do you want a spar or obstacle course because both would be interesting "she was actually planning to actually hold back but she won't let him know that and he didn't exactly make her promise that.

She didn't know about his strength but she knew that she was stronger then most The fact was if he was hurt because of her it would kill her inside.She didn't actually know about Novas and she didn't want to ask unless he wanted to talk about it.THe ship actually had a training room and a whole place a for quarters and everything because she actually planned to stay for awhile before they had too go back to earth. The fact was she wasn't actually too worried about getting lost but hopped that would not happen.

"How about an obstacle course? BOth of them sound like fun regardless. We could do the sparing afterwards." Sam offered. "I was told once by the other Nova that I ran into Black helmet novas are known for their speed. I can see how fast I am in the obstacle course." He said giving Brandi a smile. Though he had a funny feeling this might be a tough challenge since Brandi was a bit more experienced, and she also had a bit more of power underneath her in strength and speed on her side.

"Does that work?" He asked sounding hopeful that she would agree to it. He got off the chair he had been sitting in as his body glowed a deep blue. He had challenged Spider-Man 2099 to a couple of races on obstacle courses and they tied it in a best of 3-2 but this might be a bit different if it were Brandi and Sam. He was curious to see how it'd go. "And that reminds me, I challenged Miguel a couple of times to an obstacle course race back in SHIELD. We usually tied it half the time, I'd win one, he'd win the other and it'd repeat." Sam said with a chuckle.

Brandi just smirked and thought for a moment maybe she will consider that she wasn't going to hold back on this.She saw that Sam didn't actually choose which one he wanted to do but choose both and she just nodded little bit " sure I would spar first then " She wanted to see his strength and speed although she has seen it for the most.The fact they were bonded so close she considered him a family member which was pretty rare for her. The fact was she trusted him with her life and would protect him if she needed too.

She was a very experienced agent when it came to her job although she has failed few of her mission just like everyone else she usually has a very good track record. She then started towards the Training area on their ship and she waited for him when he arrvied she saids " You make the first move Sam and don't hold back and i won't either "she waited for him the course was next them if he wanted to that after his and she smiled little and waited for him to make the first move.She stretched out and stood in a horse stance she was going to fight similar to how she fights normally.She actually thinks he could handle her strength but she still was going to be becareful.

"Sounds good I'm excited for this." Sam said with some excitement as his body lit up with a bright blue light as his Nova Force activated. Not many knew this but being a Nova took a lot of concentration, and a lot of trial and error. It took him a lot of practice and trial and error, one thing that didn't come to him right away was the part of landing while flying. Once they headed into the sparring room, Sam nodded as Brandi gave the order to throw the first move and everything he had.

"I got it Brandi I won't hold back." He said with a soft nod, Sam was also very fond of Brandi and had an instinctive to protect her no matter what happened. He was also glad that she trusted him to that level. Once his hands lit up a bright blue he sent a large Nova blast that might've shaken the ship a bit from its size he hadn't made one that big in some time but it took a decent amount of energy. After sending it Sam realized something showed up on his helmet, "Brandi, my helmet is saying that Mercury is a couple of feet ahead of us, do you want to check it out?" Sam asked. "Sorry if that was so sudden but my helmet is sending me a warning." He said figuring they'd have to halt the training for now.

She barely was about to dodge him as she blurred as she stepped out of the way and she almost got to fight back when he was alerted about the planet being close to them. She then sighed she wanted to visit mercury and she just nodded little bit towards him ' yea lets go Sam and its alright " She was looking forward to seeing more of his strength she had to admit that they had to end this so soon but there is things more important to deal with right now.

She was actually wondering if they managed to colonized the place. She actually always assume that no people could live on this planet since she didn't think it was in inhabited space area.The fact was he didn't need to say anything she wanted to do this with him and spending time with her best friend was the best thing in world.She go ready to following she was ready for what might be down there on the planet this been a great advenure to her despite not really doing much.

Well it was confirmed by Brandi and her thoughts to see that it was indeed a planet that was barren. As they stepped out of the ship Sam's mask was already up on his helmet so he could breath. The Nova force had been well equipped for space missions such as this but Sam had a lot to learn to being a Nova and likely needed a teacher. "Wow this kind of reminds me of the canyons on earth here. But as far as I can tell this is just desert and sand." Sam said with a frown as he looked around on his helmet. He knew that they should probably stay close in case they get lost.

"Well we can cross this one off our list. Mercury is a big no." Sam said sounding a bit disappointed. But he'd hang around a bit longer if Brandi wanted to see anything on the planet. His helmet picked up no life forms here and it was pretty much as barren as the desert in Earth's areas. It was clear that his father wasn't here also they may have to look somewhere else. As Sam landed he found himself standing in some of the reddish brown sand as it stuck to his boots a little and he shook it off.

Brandi looked towards him sadly she actually felt for him she didn't want to let him down and she takes out holo computer going towards the scanner and scans through it. She was using her Shield training to do this she wanted to really help him to do this.The woman knew that Sam had been without his father for far too long and right now she knew this was important to him so she was making it important to her.

When the computer was beeping because it found something strange maybe Sam's Helmet had alerted them for reason because the computer was telling her there was some kind of life form on the surface of this barren planet.She then placed her hand on his shoulder " Sam you should take look at this " She was confused because this placed was suppose to have no life on it but the computer was telling her different.She also knew that possible they could also be walking into danger also because things happened like that.

Sam came over tow here Brandi was as he looked at the scanner that Brandi had done and was surprised to see that it was picking up a signal. Out in the middle of no where in space was even adding to the odd things that were happen here. "I thought most people didn't believe that there were signals or beings out here." Sam said as he showed how confused he was right here. He put his arms crossed as he showed his thinking pose right there. He carefully switched on his helmet on his hub seeing that his Nova helmet was picking up the same signal.

"Brandi my helmet hub is seeing it too. I say if both are reading it then we better go follow it. I just hope we haven't run into a trap or anything." Sam said hoping that this was something good for a chance. He hoped that they were at least on the right path for finding his dad. It seemed like it had been over 10 years since he saw his father. He felt like he needed to apologize and do many other things to make it up to his father. And Brandi could meet him too. "Oh I don't know if I ever told you Brandi, my father's name is Jesse Alexander. I guess I've been told I look a lot like him." He said with a soft shrug not knowing if that was true or not.
