In Character Rules:
1. Obey all proboards TOS. Please keep it PG 13. A bit of violence will be tolerated since that's expected. But please keep swearing and the other graphic details to a minimum. In order to sign up on proboards you must be at least 13 years old or older.
2. Respect, please respect one another. That means members of the form and as well as the administrative team. We're here to give everyone a very positive feel around the forum. If there any kind of bullying or disrespect going around, please notify the admin. We don't tolerate this at any level so if the person/user repeatedly uses it they will be deleted and banned from the site.
3. Characters: You are more than welcome to create characters, in fact this is encouraged! You are welcome as many characters as you can handle. If you can handle 1 or 5 that's great, but we all ask that they are active on the site!
4. Currently we have no word count, but we ask that you are able to keep up with the other roleplayer. If they write out three paragraphs, try to match it or do two paragraphs. We do not approve of one liners or even a few words. If we spot this on the forum you will be asked to rewrite it.
5. Currently we ask that members post at least once a week. If someone has disappeared on the site for more than two weeks we will remove their characters and put them back up on the availability list so they can be used again by others. Trust us, we understand that everyone has busy lives, but if you came to rolepay we expect there to be at least a minimum amount of roleplaying to keep the plot going.
6. There is no current plot going on and it is very broad subject going on in Marvel the Next Generation. You are free to make as many plots as you want as long as you are within reason.
7.'(Edited) Death/Violence: This appears to be some confusion as of late with this rule in conjunction with our Godmodding/powerplaying rule. First, violence of any kind is to be kept to a PG-13 level as indicated by Proboards TOS. This means that mention or description of gore, such as lethal attacks and fatal injury, is to be kept somewhat downplayed, which is not difficult to do. One can simply state "The wound was so horrible it was incredibly difficult even for the most hardened individual to look at" or "The scene before the Avengers was best described as something straight out of a horror film"; such descriptions give you a general idea of just how bad an outcome is rather than going into a great bit of detail. Second, do not automatically assume your character has harmed or damaged someone, this is considered taking control of someone else or immediately being considered powerful. To go with this, if your character has psychic abilities, even minor, do not go "invading" their thoughts without necessary permission. It is acceptable to say "So-and-so reached out to touch the mind of ____" or "Talia reached out to make her presence known, but merely touching the surface of [insert name here]'s mind to do so."
Death: When it comes to death, this is a final decision unless someone has a good explanation to why their character would be alive again. If something plot wise is not worked out that character cannot be revived in any way, regardless of methods available. This is to prevent a character from being "all powerful" or multiple copies of said character running around.
8. Spamming of all kinds is not approved on this site. If you are found spamming we will delete and ban the user instantly (this includes advertising in the wrong areas as well).
Out of Character Rules:
1. Once you have created your main account, please create your character's name account where you will be roleplaying from. It must be first name to last name in order to be done properly. Example: Peter Parker or Steve Rodgers. Then proceed to fill out the application forum in the Character Information board. You will have two weeks to complete your application before it gets removed into the archives area. We have assumed you have abandoned your character and are no longer interested in roleplaying on the site.
2. After your character will be approved. We will direct you to the Auditions Board where the staff will ask you to roleplay with them. This isn't a test or anything, but it will give us an idea if you have read the rules and understood how the forum works. We have had several cases were people join and don't even bother to read things. That is why there is a password needed to continue. The auditions will be the next step.
3. Currently all characters are up for available roleplaying. There will be a thread on which characters are taken. If you don't see that name listed then that means it is open!
4. Setting, the current setting is in an alternate world from the Marvel world 616. Here everything is up to the roleplayer. Any character can have an alternate history like Spider-Man wasn't bitten by a genetically modified spider, or Tony Stark was never Rich. Or even more surprising that the Avengers were never even formed! But most of today's society has been created from New York, to San Francisco or any other worlds that are out there. But the story is entirely up to you!
5. No god modding or power playing, this is strictly forbidden unless terms are made up with the other roleplayer. If you do have an Omega mutant, you will be limited or restricted on the abilities that you have unless it's meant for plot basis only. For example if someone has the ability to create an alternate universe (A different one than this one) Then it will be banned. Or another example of where someone has the power to kill someone instantly, it too shall be banned.
That is all for now! If the staff admin feel a need to change the site rules, there will be a notification posted in the Site News and this will be updated.
